I can respect your opinion even though you said it like a disrespectful teenager. When it comes to pets I always pick human names that I think should be pet names, such as:
Clara
Ellie
Gertrude
Lucille
Lizzie
Paige
Willow
Boris
Sawyer
Chase (Obviously, because humans don't usually make chasing things an incredibly large part of their lives)
Theo
George
Ricky
Etc.
But if someone asked, not for an opinion on a name but for a middle name idea, and I thought it was more a name for a pet rather than a human, I would probably keep that to myself. But thanks for sharing I guess.

Actually, I think it is a fine name that is still popular in some parts of the world.
It has a respectable history, a unique sound, a simple spelling and pronunciation, and a common nickname.
In fact 123 other parents liked the name too... and used it for their sons in 2013, just in the U.S. In countries where the name is more common (i.e. Israel) I am sure the number is quite a bit higher.
So, while I agree that it could seem silly or unusual to someone who is not used to hearing it - anyone of Jewish, Muslim or Christian upbringing will recognize it immediately and a modern Jew would even be used to hearing the name at festivals yearly (during Shavuot).
If a person was not religious, it might make an unusual choice - but still an acceptable one.
My guess is that your reaction will be common to Americans when they hear the name for the first time on a son, though I am sure they would see it's beauty right away too.
