Three questions
Sorry for posting so much lately, I'm in the baby name zone or some reason. I just have a few quick queries.1. Is Connie an okay nickname for a boy or is it too girly? I'm wondering about its usability for Conrad, because though Conrad is not a long name, for some reason I feel like it takes a while to say, you can't really say it quickly. Other boys names it could be used for would be Connor or Constantine, though I've heard it used for the girls name Constance. So thoughts?2. What's your immediate impression of Jason? I get people telling me it's very common or dated where they live. Here it's hardly used at all and I've never met one irl. Though I do weirdly still consider it popular, maybe because of TV shows and celebrities. It's a very familiar feeling name anyway. What are your thoughts on the name itself?3. Is Alaric too weird in real like, in a non-namenerd world and actually on a child? I feel if I mentioned this I'd get some weird looks, especially when considering people I talk to think Theo is "different"...www.behindthename.com/pnl/111030

1. Connie seems a bit contrived for Conrad. I think perhaps it might come up at some point, but with nicknames you never can tell, really. I like Connor & Constantine better than Conrad, for what that is worth.2. Jason is very dated here. Very 80s. It was probably even dated a bit in the late 90s. In general, it is fine... I've never found it striking.3. Hahaha, yes for the Theo is "different" crowd, Alaric would seem weird. I do have a hard time imagining meeting a child with this name, but I wouldn't think it was weird if I did. It has an ethereal, elvish quality to it.

1. Thinking of a boy being called Connie makes me feel a bit sad. Connie is very ugly, and it's even worse on a boy.2. Jason Orange. Jason isn't particularly popular where I live, and when you see it it's usually in the lower classes of society.3. Alaric is fine, I like it. Not too weird at all.

1) I've never met a male Connie and it does sound somewhat lady-fied to me. But I like Con, and think Conrad is fine without any shortening.
2) I like Jason. I associate it with hot Greek heroes, as I've never actually met a Jason irl. Sure it was popular in the 70s and 80s, but with the mythology and the fact that it's been in use in English for a long time, it feels like a solid, decent, handsome sort of name.
3) Nope, I don't think Alaric is especially weird. There are kids out there called Renesmee and Khaleesi and stuff. It's not that tricky to pronounce, people will get it.

1. I think Connie et al is too feminine. All the Connies I know are female. I have a character in my fanfic named Constantius, and his hated nn is Cony. I can see how it's a perfect fit as a nn for Con- names, but no.2. Jason is dated t me. I don't know a ton of them, but most are in my age bracket. This is the best choice of the three imo, not that it should matter if you are going to use these in real life.3. Alaric is too unusual for me. Yes, I know two Athenas from my rural area, but people are at least familiar with the major Greek gods and goddesses. Alaric is more obscure.

1. I think Connie for a boy is cute while he is little.
2. Jason is popular to me, I've known quite a few, most are now in their 20's. It's one of those names that I'm indifferent about.
3. I like Alaric. I think most ppl would find it different but they'd get their heads around it eventually.

1. I like Connie as a nickname for Conrad, I think it's awesome :)
2. Dont like Jason. Pretty much every Jason i've met is a borderline criminal..
3. I love Alaric. I could be weird, but people get used to names very quickly. I went to school with kids named Rueben, Dulcie, Wally, Kieran (girl) and a few other ones and I didn't think they were unusual at all.

I find Connie too girly for a boy. I do like just "Con" though. I know a little Konrad and it doesn't seem too long at all calling him that, but if I were to shorten it then I would go for Con. I did know a couple of girls named Connie when I was little though, so that's probably influencing my perspective.I like Jason, it's a bit 80s feeling to me, but generally I feel it's one of those names that can fit any sort of guy and it's got a good vibe.Alaric is great. I think it's on the weirder side, but generally it wouldn't be a hard one for people to get used to I don't think.

1: I see Connie as completely feminine-suites a girl better. Its really girly on a boy. I don't care for Conrad at all. Connor is great. Constantine: meh... Constance: stupid
Jason: very decent and timeless. My brothers name is jason "jay" and I instantly think of him.jason Is no where's near a "dated" name. Its forever usable like James or Noah or Lucas etc etc
3: I like Alaricx but nothing I'd name a child. It works best as a fictional character

Connie is way too girly for a boy.Yes, Jason is very common and it's dated. I've known what feels like a million men named Jason. For those reasons, I would never dream of using Jason. But that doesn't mean I don't like it. I like it a lot, I think it's very handsome. Unlike some other names that are common because they were once very popular, I can understand why it was so popular. If I lived somewhere where it's not common and dated, I'd consider it strongly.Alaric is not too weird for a real child.

I know a German male Conny (short for Constantin), so I think it definitely is usable.I like Jason and I like the Greek mythology connections. It is a bit dated but I would like to see it used more often - it definitely beats Jayden, Jaylen etc.I don't think Alaric is too weird to use in real life.

1. Connie as a male nickname has outlived its shelf life by several generations. Even as a girls' name it feels very middle-aged.
There is Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia, and the Connie Mack it's named for used it as a nn for Cornelius. I guess it beats Corny, but not by much.2. I always liked Jason, it's been popular for quite a while now though it doesn't seem to be as popular now as when I was growing up.3. Alaric makes me think of allergy medicine.

I've known a Constantine who was always called Con and sometimes Connie; he was huge and dishy and could have carried off just about anything, but it doesn't seem odd to me. I like Conrad very much, and have never heard it shortened, but why not?Jason to me is a street-fighting brat. An adult brat, admittedly, but not attractive at all. Wonderful in Greek mythology, but not IRL.I don't find Alaric any more extraordinary than plenty of names currently in use. Jaxon and Brayden are in the US top fifty, and some of Viatrix's South Australia boy names (see below) knock spots off it. I'd love to meet a young Alaric, and if I could have as many sons as a gravid herring, I'd gladly use it.

No.1 I like Connie, but to me it is so girly I would never consider it for a boy. I really like Conrad, it's on my list of names I actually love, but wouldn't use. I dislike Connor and Constantine. Constance is really pretty. I've also heard of Connie being used as a full name for a girlNo.2 Jason to me is sleazy, but I think that's due to my experiences of people named Jason. I quite like that it has the nickname Jase, but I just can't get on board with Jason. I have met 4 Jason's - 2 would now be 26/27, one in late 30s and the other is in his early 50s. No.3 Alaric is like Conrad for me. A name I love but wouldn't use myself. I don't think it's too weird IRL. I think Alaric is a handsome, yet quirky name, but not too out-there that people would be like 'What!'
There will always be people who think anything different from classic names is weird, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be used, plus once you know somebody with a more unusual name, the name becomes less unusual the more you see them, IYGM
