I've known a Constantine who was always called Con and sometimes Connie; he was huge and dishy and could have carried off just about anything, but it doesn't seem odd to me. I like Conrad very much, and have never heard it shortened, but why not?
Jason to me is a street-fighting brat. An adult brat, admittedly, but not attractive at all. Wonderful in Greek mythology, but not IRL.
I don't find Alaric any more extraordinary than plenty of names currently in use. Jaxon and Brayden are in the US top fifty, and some of Viatrix's South Australia boy names (see below) knock spots off it. I'd love to meet a young Alaric, and if I could have as many sons as a gravid herring, I'd gladly use it.
