I was a huge fan of a TV show called Monk (detective series) and the police Captain was named Leland Stottelmyer (sp?). I though "great name!" back when the show started (maybe 15 years ago)... so I find it totally usable.

As for excessive names... yeah, that is kinda my thing. (Leontine, Melisande, Eudora and Camille are our top names for a girl).
