Just dropping in...
A post below reminded me how much I adore the name Fairlight. Doable for a fn? Any nn possibilities? Wdyto the combo Fairlight Ever-Lily? (Though is probably drop the hyphen.)-------------------
Love my little sparrow, Caemlyn Sparrow Gail; my Hucklebaby, David Royce Huckleberry "Huck"; and my Rain, forever in my heart

Fairlight is really pretty, but it sounds like a fantasy-type fiction name.I'd pair it with Jane or Lucy, just to maybe ground it a little. Or maybe Lily Fairlight?

It seems very hillbilly to me, because it was the name of a hillbilly character in the novel "Christy." The character is a very positive one, though. But dies of typhoid. I think it's usable, though, and quite pretty.

I love that it's "But dies of typhoid." That's really hitting a certain comedy note for me. :-)

Fairlight was a character in the book/movies "Christie", so it has positive associations for me. I think yes, doable as a first name, but I would say Fairlight Ever-Lily is a bit overkill. :) At some point I'd prefer that the combo be balanced out with a more substantial name-y name, as opposed to word-y name. Not that you asked, but if I had to choose, I think Ever-Lily is way cooler than Fairlight.Nicknames for Fairlight:
Fair
Fairy
Light
Flight
Fair-Fair
Fifi
Fly
Flair
AiryGood to see Rain in your signature there.

The book is why in love the name so!The shows just started airing (or at least I just found them) on a channel I didn't even know I had, so Fairlight's on my mind again. I've loved it forever. Ever Lily is a newer love, though I've liked both names for many years. I think the name Ever comes up every pregnancy. I think it's probably more usable, too. Rain is a much bigger part of our lives than I thought she'd be. Cae asked for (and received) a locket to put Rain's picture in. She loves showing the picture to everyone and explains that Baby Rain is in Heaven. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it, but she tells it like its a happy thing, and as a Christian, isn't that how it should be?
I have a necklace too :)

Fairlight strikes me as a musculine name. I think it could work as MN, if the child/person would have the guts to pull it off. But it's not usable as a FN. Fairlight Ever-Lily seems a bit too much.I adore your son's name, by the way, especially the Huckleberry "Huck" part. And Sparrow Gail is quirky too.

Sorry but Fairlight is ridiculous, and Fairlight Ever-Lily even more so. I'd have trouble taking seriously someone with this name.

agreeFairlight itself is ridiculous, and pairing it up with those other "names" just amps up the dumb factor.

That's a actual name?
Dislike...
Nicknames: liliI only like lily. Fair light & ever aren't names in my opinion

Fairlight is cool, though probably best as a MN. Reminds me of Fairview, which I've considered as a girls MN because it reminds me of my mom

Hey, how are you doing?Anyway, Fairlight...sounds like the name of a horse. Tack Ever-Lily onto it, and it's a little too airy-fairy lah-dee-dah for my personal taste. Not substantial enough.

I'm doing pretty well. making some changes in my life for the better. Thanks! Can't decide if I like Fairlight or Ever Lily more, but I agree it seems, um, flighty. Was hoping it was just me.

Hmmm...well, if it were me, I would rather be named Ever Lily. At least then I could go by Lily if I wanted to.
