Mary as a middle name.
I always thought it sounded a bit odd in the middle name slot, but as it's a family name, I'm starting to think of it more and more.Anyone have any combos that sound alright?

I actually find it to be refreshing in the middle spot... much better than Marie or even Maria. I find it particularly works well with a longer, maybe frillier girl name. :)It is a family name for me, as well, so I have really tossed around having it in the middle name spot.Isabelle Mary
Ophelia Mary
Matilda Mary
Coralie Mary
Adelaide Mary
Elizabeth Mary (Eliza)have been some that I've thought of before for myself. From your name list (assuming these aren't just for your writing):Susannah Mary
Caroline Mary
Andromeda Mary *** Love this one.

I think Mary would sound particularly lovely in the MN slot with just about anything =)

Mary is my middle name, my mum's middle name and my late nanny's middle name; our names is respective order are Millie, Nicola, and Vivienne.I would love to use Mary in the middle for a future daughter - for obvious reasons - combos I like include:
Willow Mary
Margot Mary
Melody MaryI'm also liking it more and more as a first name, possibly with the nickname May. Something like Mary Vivienne; Mary Eleanor (honouring my sister); Mary Octavia. :-)

Willow Mary is beautiful. There is a soft, naturey feel to Willow, and a sturdier, traditional feel to Mary... I think it pairs perfectly! As far as double names go... (I love Mary Something names)... Mary Eleanor & Mary Octavia are great, too. I prefer Mary Octavia for a something a little different.

I had once found Mary unbelievably plain, but recently I'm loving it more and more. It's hard to have Mary in the middle name slot and not immediately say, "Marie," instead! I find that first names without the letter 'm' do not go well with Mary at all-- too much of mouthful!* = I personally likeFrom your name list:
Kathryn / Katherine Mary *
Elizabeth Mary *
Gloria Mary
Johanna Mary *Others:
Josephine Mary *
Anne Mary
Annelise / Annaliese Mary
Rosalie Mary
Eleanor Mary
Constance Mary *
Julia Mary
Claire Mary (my grandmother's name)
Rebecca Mary
Georgianna Mary
Claudia Mary
Eliza MaryYou can also use Rosemary to honor your family! I hope this was of some help :)

I have to agree that it looks a bit odd in the mn slot. I would make it the first name and use the middle name as the common name. This is actually a pretty common practice among Hispanics, I think--they name their daughters Maria Ana, Maria Catalina, Maria Beatriz etc, and then they use the mn as the common name.
I like:
Mary Margaret
Mary Catherine
Mary Christina
Mary Josephine
Mary Ellen
Mary Eva
Mary Ursula
Mary Olivia
Mary ClareAs a mn:
Eva Mary
Anna Mary
Isabel Mary
Tessa Mary
Julia Mary
Antonia MaryI don't know, though, it just sounds kind of backwards in the mn spot.
