Well had I been a boy, I would have probably been named James, after my dad, even though that's my sister's middle name since they thought she was going to be a boy. I was a surprise baby after 3 other girls so I don't think they really had anything in mind other than what I ended up being. I'm not sure how they came up with Kelsey (think my mom just liked), but Diane is supposedly after my aunt (but her name is Debbie, so I don't know. I think her middle name is Diane, dunno, don't like her) and Megan was a name my dad liked. My dad always liked the name Molly so if he had his choice, I would have probably been named Molly.
