Boy Name Marvel
What do you think of the baby boy name Marvel? and what would be some good middle names. Unsure if we would actually use it. Just curious :)

Given the comic book company Marvel, and the stereotypes associated with young men who pour over comics, I think the name might be troubling to a boy who didn't fit that stereotype. It would be even more trouble for a boy who did fit the stereotype.

Um, I think Marvel would be a lot to live up to. OTOH, there's a boy at my dd's school named Marvelous and his parents weren't worried about that sort of thing at all. :-)
I'm not a fan of it. It reminds me of the comic books, and also the verb "to marvel at something". I once knew a guy named Marvel. I feel like it's one of those names that sounds cool in theory, but would be a pain to live with day-to-day. The Marvel I knew seemed fairly frustrated with the amount people commented on his name.
For a mn, I think something a little more classic would be best, since it's a more obscure name.
Marvel Alexander
Marvel Theodore
Marvel Anthony
Marvel Leopold
Marvel Graham

Comics. Will constantly make people think of comics and superheroes.
And don't get me wrong, I LOVE comics, but no. That's not a way to go through life.
And don't think people won't know it's comics. It's arguably the largest name in comics and the industry is currently at the highest point in their 80+ year history. And with the Marvel cinematic universe growing, it's going to be the Star Wars of this generation. Everyone will be familiar with it.
Naming a kid Marvel is past just using a nice word; it's pretty much the same as naming your kid after any other sci-fi universe at this point.

Marvel is a feminine name imo. I don't like if much for either gender, but while it's odd on girls, it's terrible on boys.
