Daisy - it ought to be twee but somehow it isn't, and I like it. The Daisy I know best is fierce and fun and not at all a meek flower, which helps
Brynn - nah. *side-eyes you in a Welsh manner*
Harper - yeah yeah Harper Lee, interesting lady and all, but as a name for an ordinary person it's pretty harsh and makes me think of harpies and Harpic toilet cleaner
Dominique - love it on both sexes
Clea - pretty in theory, but in practice it would sound too much like 'clear' or 'Clare'
Adriana - don't hate it, but I'm not keen on -anas. Adrienne or even Adria appeal moreMerrick - Derek and Eric are in their 70s, 80s or 90s here, so this sounds elderly to me. Meurig is nice though
Ambrose - makes me think of a fat, sleepy, slightly smelly cat
Elijah - do not like at all
Leander - interesting, but would probs end up as boring Andy or Lee
Alec - yup I'm liking this too, not sure why
Leonidas - magnificent, possibly too magnificent for me but I do like saying it.

I like Harper, but I feel that it might be too trendy for me to use personally (although it was my grandma's maiden name). Brynn has been growing on me lately. Ambrose was something that I discovered a while back and instantly loved.

Daisy - sounds like a cow
Brynn - cool
Harper - too masculine
Dominique - not a fan
Clea - sounds too clay-like
Adriana - goodMerrick - I wish I could like this, but all I can think of is the sad fate of Joseph Merrick (The Elephant Man). He's my hero, but...
Ambrose - frumpy
Elijah - I prefer Elias
Leander - beautiful, but I can't see it on a child
Alec - looks cut off
Leonidas - cool, but the same problem as with Leander

Maybe this will help you picture Leonidas on a child:This is my grandson, Leonidas

I love Clea, Ambrose, and Leander!

Daisy: I really love, it has a sweet, vintagey feel to me.
Brynn: Seems more modern, but very approachable.
Harper: This is the name of the last three years within people in my social network, I know of 4 little Harpers... and it is a fine name, especially with the Harper Lee connection, but I'm kind of over it for the moment.
Dominique: Not my favorite, but I would love to see it.
Clea: Seems a little incomplete to me, not sure why.
Adriana: Classic, see Dominique.Merrick: Very cool. I also know Mareks that are pronounced similarly.
Ambrose: I'm digging this one lately.
Elijah: Classic, but not boring.
Leander: I like it, and I'd love to see it, though it wouldn't be for me personally.
Alec: Nice, handsome. I like it better with a fuller name though.
Leonidas: This would just be the best name to hear, strong, interesting, can go by Leo. Love it.

Daisy - tacky
Brynn - decent, but on the trendy side, enough that it will become dated despite the internet driven change in popularity patterns
Harper - I just can't stomach how much this makes me think of the idiom "harping on" something meaning repeatedly complaining. It's not namey and it sounds sort of harsh to me. I usually like the Har-syllable but it just doesn't take endings well.
Dominique - love it. Way too much name for me to ever use though.
Clea - eh. Too coy. It's like Cleo, only chickened out and tried to camouflage itself as Leah.
Adriana - nice name.Merrick - lmao, are people starting to like this? It's been my favorite name since 1986. I wonder what sort of image it would have for people, if it did become more popular.
Ambrose - insufferable.
Elijah - the only archaic boy -ah name I don't really loathe. I think it's okay but it does sort of loudly say "biblical prophet" and that makes it annoying.
Leander - makes me think of rural Texas. There's a town Leander not far from Austin. So, I dunno. It's alright. When I see -ander names I think, why didn't you just use Alexander?
Alec - a little smarmy... prefer Alex. It could be alright though, kinda cool-kid on the right guy.
Leonidas - fun. I'm not a Leo fan but it doesn't bug me.

Merrick makes me think of fairies. Like, he'd be a fairy king. Or more likely spelled faerie.

I didn't like Merrick at first because of the Joseph Merrick association, but it's grown on me. Guess you're a trendsetter. :)

Daisy -- I like this but would worry it would seem silly on a grown woman.
Brynn -- Think it's terrible
Harper -- Also think this is terrible
Dominique -- Meh
Clea -- Don't like
Adriana -- Better than Adrian or Adrienne for a girl, it's niceMerrick -- Really dislike
Ambrose -- Also dislike this
Elijah -- I like it but it's been too popular
Leander -- I really like this and would like to see it used more
Alec -- I like it but only as a nickname for Alexander
Leonidas -- Most probably remember this is my grandson's name, at first I thought it was weird, but then I came to agree with my daughter that it's a great boys' name because it's both beautiful and strong/masculine, which is rare to find in a boys' name

Daisy: I'm a fan of flower names so I tend to like this one. It does seem a little weak but the right girl could pull it off, I think. I've been hearing it more and more on television but I'm not sure what that signifies, if anything.Brynn: There aren't many B names I like. I think Brynn sounds snooty. A girl who wears too much lip gloss and suffers from the compulsion of hair flipping and angsty sighing. Harper: Ugh. I like this for the literary connection but I know so many Harpers who are under one. Or around there. I don't know how old they are. They're recent kids from old classmates anyway. I think one was a boy but the rest are girls. Hearing it all the time (and the accompanied "Oh, how cute and rare!!" from everyone) is making me dislike it more and more.Dominique: Like it! I love Dominic for a boy, too. Dominique is a little long but it doesn't necessarily need a nickname. It's fabulous.Clea: I think immediately of the actress Clea DuVall. I don't like it. It sounds incomplete, it's only one letter away from clear, and it's too similar to Claire, a name I think is repugnant. Adriana: Love this!! My sister knew one in high school who was insane in a sometimes-fun-sometimes-life-threatening sort of way. I try hard to keep the association distant because I think the name is beautiful. It has spunk despite sounding flowery.Merrick: A Watcher.Ambrose: I like it! More for an adult character than a real life child.Elijah: It's okay. Prefer Eli by itself.Leander: It's fun to say and it reminds me of meander. Meandering is a favorite sport of mine so I'm tempted to like it. Still, the name lacks pizazz. Alec: Alex with boat shoes and a sweater tied around his shoulders. Maybe with some aviators and a pristine leather jacket for when he feels like being a cinematic bad boy.Leonidas: Lots of fun. Maybe too big for a real person now. But maybe not... The boy would need to be able to carry it. I love Leo either way.

Daisy- I have a total soft spot for Daisy. Years ago I wrote a character named Daisy and she was so dirty, simple and sweet. So, it's a little cheesy but I do love it. I'd rather use it as a middle name. Brynn- Never liked it. Something feels off about it. Like Brynn is some snobby house wife's bratty daughter. I really dislike -ynn endings.Harper- Love/hate kind of deal. I like that's a little more masculine but it's so pretenious sounding.Dominique- Too frilly. Maybe Brynn's cousin.Clea- Never heard this one before. I'd like it for a middle name, it'd be kind of cool in that slot. It's too lacking for a first name though, I think. Adriana- Dominque's annoying older sister who chain smokes secretly in the back yard.Merrick- I like this, on someone else's kid though. It's cool, and masculine without being stuck up. Wouldn't personally use it, but I wouldn't mind meeting a little Merrick.Ambrose- Hard to take seriously. Maybe better suited for a middle name. Elijah- It reminds me of the episode of Roseanne where DJ meets a kid named Elijah who hums and they start calling him Liza Minnelli. That said, it's a decent name. Not something I'd use.Leander- I don't like the way this looks. Something about it is just off. I'm not crazy about the sound either.Alec- Simple, but nice. Fresher than Alex without being over the top. I would use Alec on it's on, not as a nickname for Alexander.Leonidas- Trying too hard. Way too hard. I like Leo, but Leonidas is over the top.

Daisy - I know a really great Daisy, so I don't mind this one, even if it is a bit cheesy.
Brynn - I've liked Bryn for a a long time. I don't mind it with two Ns either. I really enjoy it as a middle name
Harper - meh
Dominique - You know what, I've never thought about it, but I could like this one. I do really enjoy Dominika.
Clea - not a fan
Adriana - fine but a bit frilly for meMerrick - Awesome.
Ambrose - Even awesome
Elijah - great, but I like Elias and Eliam better
Leander - not my style
Alec - Another great one! I've loved this since Road to Avonlea days
Leonidas - a bit over the top

I like Daisy and Alec enormously! Brynn and Harper make no sense to me at all. I like Adrian and to a lesser extent Dominic for boys, so Dominique (f) and Adriana don't do it for me. A friend has a Clea daughter whom everyone calls Clare - they've given up correcting people. And I like Clare better anyway.Merrick has positive sporting connections where I live, and it's certainly better than Eric, but I wouldn't say I like it exactly. Ambrose is impossible to take seriously; Elijah has a religious air about it that I don't endorse; Leander could work as a mn, but would shorten to Lee as a fn and I'm over Lee, Leigh etc for m and f people. Leonidas would be odd on a non-Greek person, but as a name it's fine and Leo is fine too.

Daisy - It's okay, but a little sweet for my personal taste.
Brynn - I've always had a soft spot for this name. I tend to put it in the middle name slot, but it's a good first name too.
Harper - One that I've always liked, but would never personally use. I'd like it on someone else's child.
Dominique - This name has been ruined for me by a snobby girl that my sister knows, but it's very classy.
Clea - Never heard of it before, but I like it.
Adriana - Elegant and stylish.Merrick - I like how upbeat and modern this name sounds. One of the few "last names as first names" that I like to see.
Ambrose - Really awesome classic name.
Elijah - I've always liked this one. Cute for a child and ages well.
Leander - Like it, but I don't think I would ever use it in real life.
Alec - Definitely prefer this over Alex as a nickname for Alexander. I think it could even stand on its own as a name.
Leonidas - As a history nerd, I appreciate seeing this one. It's got a great story behind it, but I could never give it to a child.
