Re: Some names
Demetra - my neighbour is Dimitra and sometimes known as Dim, Dimmy or Dims. Which puts me right off. Fine if you're Greek (like her) but otherwise not.
Gwenella - Fenella is preferable. Gwen names don't appeal.
Falene "feh-LEEN" - one of the many -een names I heartily dislike
Neri - nope. Nary a thing in its favour.
Meredith - I like it, though not enough to use, and Merry is a cheerful nn.
Arimathea - not a fan of geographical names. What about Josephine instead?Joplin - not keen on lnfns, though you could sell me on Scott.
Raynard - foxy! But I prefer Reinhard with the German pronunciation.
Shale - much too geological, and would be confused with Shane.
Joel - I like it very much indeed; I do prefer Joseph, which is also a family name, but only just, and one couldn't use both.
