Re: Pearl Combos
in reply to a message by LMS
I've warmed up quite a bit to Pearl as well. As an aside, my mother's name was Margaret and after she passed away, we scattered her ashes over the ocean. (She loved the sea. It was her very favorite place in the world.) It wasn't until later that I realized her name meant 'pearl.' How appropriate!Of your combos, the only combo I wouldn't use is Ada Pearl. Ada has always reminded me of 'ate a ..." and Ada Pearl sounds to me like 'ate a pearl.' I've never been a fan of Edith, but also, the th on the end of the name doesn't transition well into the P sound of Pearl. It's very lispy, imo. While Eleanor is my favorite name here, I don't totally love how Eleanor Pearl rolls off my tongue. OTOH, Josephina Pearl sounds wonderful together! I also like the nn options for Josephina.
