Alice is lovely. It can't be shortened, but if you like it is that a real problem? It's certainly not unique or even slightly unisex though.
Elena is nice, although I prefer Eleanor - it is more classic and can be shortened to Nora which is really cute and sounds strong.

Some more ideas:
Carmen - strong image, can be shortened to Cara and is relatively unusual.
Willow - Neutral and 2 syllables. Not so easy to shorten but could be Willa or Billie
Erin - can't be shortened, but is unisex and unusual (at least where I live!)
Christian - unisex, but more unusual for women. In my accent it has 2 syllables but could vary on location. Chris, Christy, Tia as nicknames.
Tamsin - Tam or Tammy
