I also agree with you on most points. Sadie isn't good, in my view, but there are several worse - Maisie springs to mind. And I've always enjoyed Julian for its historical resonance, though I sure as eggs wouldn't use it for a child. But nor would I use Julius or Julia or Julianne or Julie. Juliet sneaks in as a mn for some reason - probably Shakespearean.
