Thoughts on Wanda
Can Wanda be used today? I know it's considered super dated, but it has a long history and I think it has both a charming look and sound.I'd probably use with a trendier middle name that she could go by if she hated it.I like Wanda Violet, but maybe the flow's off?

LOVE WANDA. So quirky. I think it could for sure be used today, but you'd need the right attitude. You can't call a girl Wanda and act like her name is Sophia. Just won't work. Wanda Violet isn't bad, I like the "want a violet" thing actually. For a "safer" middle name, I'd suggest:Wanda Zoe
Wanda Chloe
Wanda Scarlett (Scarlet Witch shoutout)
Wanda Caroline
Wanda Lucy
Wanda Catherine
Wanda Alice
Wanda Eleanor
Wanda Willow !!!? YEAH

Honestly I think it sounds super ugly. It also makes me think of "A Fish Called Wanda".

To me it's both unattractive and slightly comical. Not sure why I get the comical vibe.

"A Fish Called..."Yep, I think of A Fish Called Wanda and Wanda Sykes. I can't say I really like it, but I don't hate it. It just isn't my style. A little dowdy. If you are going to use it, Wanda Violet is lovely.

I had a student named Wanda about 3 years ago and she was about 21... it didn't feel outdated or old when in relation to an actual person and not just written....

I abhor, loathe, and eschew Wanda, but at least it's not Lyric. It also makes me think of the bitchy fairy from Fairly Odd Parents.

Why do you always have to be such a... well, jerk? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but at least try to get it across in a civilized way.

Sorry I'm too straight-foward.

I would worry about "A Fish Called Wanda" teasing.
Before that movie spoiled everything I quite liked Wanda, and was also liking Bronya at approximately the same time.

Sorry, I find Wanda to be most unattractive, lacking in style and grace. There's also a harshness and a clunkiness to it that I greatly dislike.ETA that I don't think Wanda is ready for a comeback.

I've been thinking about Wanda a lot since watching the Polish film Ida for the second time. I love the name's continental stylishness and panache. Wanda Violet is cute. What about Wanda Ruby? Wanda Lucy? Wanda Zoe? Wanda Chloe? Wanda Rachel? Wanda Blythe? Wanda Eve? Wanda Pearl?

I like Wanda Zoe and Wanda Blythe a lot! And Ida's such a great movie.

Maybe you could revive it in another 50 years or so. As of now, I think it would not be befitting on a child. I'm not sure I could think of a name that would be less befitting than Wanda.

Ugly Wanda...I never liked this name, and I never thought it was appealing in any way. It sounds so...lumbering and slow-witted. I don't know, I just don't like it, and I don't think a trendier middle name helps.

One of my aunts is named Wanda, she's lots of fun. I think the name is fun but not one I'd ever want to have or give. Best to avoid a noun middle name to avoid the Want A trap.
