Betsy
What do you think of Betsy as a full name? Can it stand alone, or do you think it sounds too juvenile? I'm not an Elizabeth fan, but I really like the retro, fun feeling of Betsy lately.

I don't really like it as a full name. It's quite juvenile. Maybe it could be a nickname for one of these:
Annabeth
Babette
Bethany
Betony
Bettina
Jobeth
Lilibeth
Elsbeth
LisbethDo you like any of those?

I do like Bethany, thanks for that. I hadn't considered it.

On the same line...I always have Betsy down as a nickname for Beatrice/Beatrix. I noticed you have them on your list and thought it might be nice to suggest. :)

I love Betsy. I don't think there's any need for a longer name. http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/149886

I know a 30-something professional called Betsy (not really an Elizabeth, just a Betsy) and an elderly relative had this name too, though it morphed into Bess. While I would use the full name myself I do think it works by itself. The Betsy I know is vivacious and the jaunty name suits her.

I don't think Betsy works as a full first name. It is a bit juvenile. It makes a cute middle though!

It's cute. :-) I knew one Elizabeth "Betsy" and one full name Betsy when I was growing up. It seemed just fine either way.

I'm more of a Betty fan myself. If I was a Betsy, I'd much rather have Elizabeth to fall back on as I got older. Or even Isabelle or Isabella.

It's one of my favorite Elizabeth nicknames, but I think it works fine as a full name.

I like Betsy a lot as a nickname for Elizabeth. It is, in fact, my favorite nickname for Elizabeth. But I don't like it at all as a full name. I don"t think it looks great on s resume. Yes, it is too juvenile. I can"t think of a good reason not to give a girl Elizabeth to fall back on.

I think it's cute but in a very babyish, juvenile kind of way. Even as just a nn, it seems babyish.

I love it! I went to undergrad with a Betsy Minnie which was refreshing to hear in about 2004. :)

I think Betsy can stand alone and it definitely does have a retro vibe.
