WDYTO...
What do you all think of Constance for a boy? I've always loved it for a girl but lately I've been thinking it would be nice for a boy. Opinions?

A part of me loves it and the other part of me likes it as an unusual middle name. But I love feminine names for boys.

Love it! And Konstantin. I really think it could work and would not be seen as a girls name because it's not used in general.

I know it isn't used 5 or more times right now, but there were lots of Constances born in the 20's, 30's, 40's, and 50's. Someone in his class could say "Hey, my (great) grandma's name is Constance," or "That's my great-aunt's name." It's my brother-in-law's mom's name, and my niece and nephew know her full name, not just that we call her Connie.

NoJust use the magnificent and criminally underused Constantine.

Probably not for a boy.
Do you like Clement? a bit the same vibe, perhaps.

I don't think that Constance sounds overly feminine but still just no.

bad ideaI can't say I find it attractive even on a girl, but on a boy, no. Just no. To paraphrase Ramona Quimby's father: "There are some things we do not do, simply because they are not nice. And naming a boy Constance is one of those things."

Constant or Constantine, sure. Constance? Nope. My brother has loved Constance forever, and it considered for both of his daughters' names, but I don't think my sister-in-law was ever really on board.

I am not a fan. Probably because I always think of the nickname Connie with this name. I am sure there are options for a boy too (Stan?). I can understand the appeal as a boy's name though, since the meaning and the sounds are strong enough to be suited to a masculine name, I just prefer it on a girl.

I can't see it as a boy's. Constantin or Constant would be fine. Constans was a Latin boy's name, but sounds too much like Constance.

I don't think it works for a boy at all. I think he'd be embarrassed.

Why saddle a boy with a fem name when Constant exists as a viable male option? Or, indeed, Constantine.

Well, I do love the name for a girl, but I do no think it would be easy for a boy to carry such a name. What I wolud suggest is a similar name but with male usage such as: CONSTANTINE(/ˈkɒnstəntaɪn/ or /ˈkɒnstəntiːn/; Latin: Cōnstantīnus, Greek: Κωνσταντῖνος, Kōnstantînos) is a masculine given name and surname which is derived from the Latin name Constantinus, a hypocoristic of the first names Constans and Constantius, both meaning "constant, steadfast" in Latin. I find this name very strong and powerful. While it is fairly if not very rare, it will always be of great presense if you understant that what I say.
I do hope my thoughts are helpful.
