If I loved Maggie but hated Margaret, I would name my child Maggie.

However, if my heart was set on a longer first name, I suppose I might consider Megali, Magdalena, Magnolia... maybe Megan or Marigold as a stretch. Magnolia would be my personal choice from those.

I actually like Margaret, but not Maggie. I have been playing with the idea of a Margaret and calling her Gret or Greta.
