HelpNames that fit with Sabrielle
So I've decided on the name Sabrielle (Bree) for my main character, but I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out a name for the opposing male character. I really like Kiel, but that's too similar sounding to use. Except for common names, I am open to any suggestions.
Here is a description of his personality and a little back story. It is a fantasy setting.
He is a prince who is not good with words, this is due to him not having many close friends. As such, he can come off as a rude person to others. Sometimes, he actually seems to enjoy angering and teasing people as well. Also, from time to time, He can be quite overconfident thinking he can do things others can not.
He is almost always a calm and collected character, rarely showing any signs of distress. When in a battle, he becomes incredibly fierce and aggressive. Sometimes, his fierceness is up to the point where he loses control of himself and is even unable to recall what he had done.
However, he is actually a kind person who is just misunderstood. he refuses to abandon another person in trouble. This is only strengthened after the demise of a close friend. He also comforts others who are scared or down.
He is also a very emotional person and lets his emotions control him from time to time. The deaths of his friend haunts him, it has had a huge effect on his personality and motives, making him very distant from others. He is someone who would let guilt ruin his life if not comforted. He also tries to hide his abilities, not wanting unneeded attention.
He is a person with incredibly strong resolve who will do anything and everything in his power to accomplish something that is important to him without any hesitation, even is the task has been declared impossible.

I really like Cyrien, or maybe alter it a little to Cyrion/Kyrion? what do you think?

haha, I was gonna say it doesn't really matter, but then I saw Kiel and my first thought was "that's way too similar!" So I guess it does matter. But I think that's just about the only way it matters re: fitting with the other character.
What matters more is who the character is, where they're from, what they're home-life is like, etc like a hillbilly from Alabama is unlikely to go by Alistair, you know? Also important to take into consideration is, if you're writing sci-fi/fantasy, the name "matches" the world you've created. Like I have a science fiction story set in the far future and with many worlds and peoples/species and I keep the names sounding similar by choosing influences. Like one world's names are more Fino-Ugric sounding, while another is influenced by Sanskrit, etc Or one group of people have more "American south" type names, where another has "European aristocracy" type names. Something like that.
Basically, describe your character a bit more otherwise you'll get suggestions all over the place! haha
