Jasmine
WDYTO Jasmine?
Is it dated or flimsy? If you can, please list a few names that you think are a similar style to Jasmine - names you'd expect (or hope) to see as her siblings.- mirfak

Jasmine isn't dated to me, as I've never lived in a place where, or when, it's been popular. To me, it's mostly a Mid-East name, a community I'm quite familiar with, so I'll give her some sisters-
Farah
Jamila
Souad
Layla. and some brothers-
Samir
Yousf
Chaiker
Karim. It's a pretty name. Maybe a bit flimsy, but certainly useable.

It's a bit dated as a 90s name, but not unusably so. I don't find it flimsy at all. I think it's one of the stronger sounding flower names. Sadly, I've seen a lot of crazy spellings of Jasmine, and that has made me like it less over time. Sibs of RL Jasmines I know: Brittany, Amber, Amara, Jazzlyn (twin to Jazzmyn, of course ), David, Jordan (b), Ervin, Antonio.

I do find Jasmine a bit dated, but not too dated. As for siblings, I'd expect something along the lines of Archer, Donovan, Hannah or Liberty.

Nooooo, Jasmine is neither dated or flimsy in my opinion!I think Jasmine is exotic, beautiful, elegant but (excuse the pun) jazzy.Laila is a name I have always associated with Jasmine as a sister name.

omg, I was legit just discussing this with my friends last week, when we went to a pregnancy-congrats dinner (cause one of them is pregnant). It was a little weird cause they started discussing names but I was the only one there without any kids, or expecting any, so I felt shy adding to the convo... until we got to Jasmine. We came to the realization that every single Jasmine we knew was Latina, except for one, who is filipina. It was funny because we agreed it sounds like it belongs on a suburban white girl born in the mid-90s, even though none of our experiences with the name match that.It was very weird! So, yeah, I think of it as dated to the 90s (which, judging by it's popularity history it most definitely is lmao) for suburban white girls, but now also to Latina girls born in the 80s, which is, as I said, just about every Jasmine I know lol

I've always thought of Jasmine as a kind of tacky, plastic name. Maybe it's because of Aladdin and my association with a cheap, itchy Jasmine sleeping bag I had as a kid :D Anyway, it's not my style, but I do like a lot of other flower names. I'd expect a Jasmine to have siblings like Brianna, Tristan, Dylan, Taylor, or Ashley. I'd hope a Jasmine might have siblings like Bryony, Linnea, Rowan, and River (though these aren't my style either)

I like the name Jasmine pretty well, though not enough to use it as a first name and probably not for a middle name either. It sounds current because for sure I don't know any Jasmines close to my age, but I imagine it's probably headed toward datedness.I guess I'd think of Jasmine's sisters as things like Alexis, Jade, Destiny, Kayla, Mariah, Sabrina, Kaitlyn and Sierra. Some are names I like, some I don't like, but they all seem to fit.

It's not my usual style but I think it's pretty, and I love the flower and its scent. I also like Jasmina, Yasmin and Yasmina.Siblings (UK): Chloe, Summer, Layla, Sienna, Keira, Logan, Harvey, Finley, Callum, Riley

I know I will probably be in the minority on this one, but I have always thought Jasmine was a beautiful name. To me, it sounds soft and feminine and the jasmine plant has one of the most gorgeous scents too. To most it will probably seem over done and dated, or a name for a certain lower demographic, but I don't care, I still like it! As for siblings I like Nadia, Zara, Phoebe, Liliana, Lucy, Matilda, Celeste, Cleo, Chloe, Zoe, Freya, Alice, Ava, Sophie, Ruby, Eliza, Evie/Eve/Eva, Tess/Tessa and Ivy for girls and Ezra, Remy, Toby, Isaac, Oscar, Oliver, Asher, Ashton, Samuel, Seth, Dexter, Felix, Finley, Gabriel, Hugo, Harry, Leo, Levi, Luke, Charlie, Noah, Max and Milo for boys.

I have a friend from childhood named Jasmine. Her sister is named Shantala.I knew a girl who was adopted from Romania who went by Yasmina... Always thought that was pretty. Yasmina and Roxana or Shirin would be a nice sister set to me :)Other names I like that I think go with Jasmine:Serena
Lila
Maya or Maia

I don't think Jasmine is dated but I don't think it's flimsy either. All the Jasmines that I've met are OK to deal with.If Jasmine had (adopted) siblings, their names would be Malati and Matsuri since their meanings are similar to Jasmine. Malati is an Indian name and it means, in Sanskrit, "jasmine". Matsuri, on the other hand, is Japanese (written as 茉莉) and it means "Arabian jasmine" (which is a different type of jasmine).

Not really sure how you came to that conclusion or what even prompted you to say it.
