I don't think it is too similar - in fact, I didn't even notice the similarity to the phrase until you mentioned it. I suppose if I heard it said aloud a couple times, I would hear the connection.

I think it is fine. I am not a huge fan of alliteration in names... but I do like the juxtaposition of River with a more traditional and dated name in Roland.

In this scenario, I guess my major opinion on the name would have a lot to do with the second middle. However, as it stands - I find it more than workable.

Plus... Roland does match your current sibset, and River fits right in where it is too.
