Name choices!!! What do you all think? :)
Alice Matilda
Alice Juliet (actually a combo I loved years ago and it still feels lovely)
Alice Louisa
So I love all of the Alice names. Alice was also the name of my gt grandmother.Annabel Lux
Annabel Matilda
Love Annabel (only this spelling though) but can I imagine a grown up Annabel?Isla Juliet - Very Pretty combo and the names flow so well together.Liesl Charlotte
Liesl Matilda
Loving Liesl right now, but is it too unusual for where I live? Both combo's are so beautiful in my opinion though. (live in scotland)Louisa Charlotte - lovely comboMatilda Alice
Matilda Lux
Matilda I have just recently fell in love with the name. I particulary like the contrast between Matilda and Lux and this one goes really well with our surname.Poppy Eleanor
Poppy Matilda
Poppy Annabel
Poppy Louisa
Again I love the name Poppy and love every one of these combo's but I'm not sure I can imagine a grown up poppy (but then what's the difference between Poppy, Rose and Lily- all flower names so why wouldn't it.. torn!)Sophie Louisa
Sophie Eleanor
Very cute name's love Sophie but I do know a another little girl called Sophie so I dunno if I want my daughter to have the same name!

Alice: I can never decide how I feel about Alice. Some days I think it's sweet in a white, knee-high socks kind of way. Other days I think it sounds like one of those frilly paper things people wrap around the outside of fancy cakes, and I don't like it at all.Liesl:
My favourite of all the names you've chosen. Liesl is sweet and delicate but dignified, too. I don't think it's too unusual (most people would know it from The Sound of Music, I think?) but people may wonder if you have some German/Austrian background...? Annabell:
I know a grown up Annabell so I have no problem imagining this. It's a pretty name, but doesn't have much substance to it. Kind of like a dandelion clock. Or candyfloss.
Lux sounds like a toilet cleaner...Isla Juliet:
So pretty. I love Isla.Louisa Charlotte:
Is is a lovely combo... I'll always like Louise better though. And Lucy better than Louise.Matilda:
I really can't get behind this name. I've no idea why it's suddenly so popular... to me it's a musty, ugly, brown-green colour. It tastes bad when I say it.Poppy:
This... is just a really stupid name. It's not like Rose or Lily at all (kind of funny you chose them. Rose is one of my daughter's middle names and Lily is my mn). Poppy is juvenile and hyperactive. And it's got pop right in there. Like popcorn. Small explosions. Fizzy pop (depending on where you live).Sophie:
It's a very friendly sort of name. I know Sophia is crazy popular but Sophie as a full first name doesn't sound so great to me... only, I know nicknames as first names are popular now too. So.. I dunno. It's okay. Sophie Louisa is nice.

I love pretty much all of these. Alice is also on my list. I live near the Scottish border and I can totally picture a young Liesl. I bet it sounds even better in your local accent. My favourites are
Liesl Charlotte
Liesl Matilda
Poppy Eleanor
Poppy Annabel
Alice LouisaI think Liesl Alice works well too.http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/149886

Thank you very much for your comment. I'm actually english myself.. just moved up to Scotland for work but I do think Liesl sounds very pretty when I say it. I did like Liesl Alice but I don't like LAC for initials (made me think lack, so I ruled it out) I've also Vetoed Alice Louisa (ALC). Appreciate you taking the time out, it's really helpful to hear your views especially as you're from around the same area as me.Nicole

I think Liesl Charlotte has the best blend of comfortable glamour and "look at me but don't look at me" pizzazz.

My favourite is Louisa Charlotte - beautiful elegant classic feel, followed by Alice Juliet and Alice Matilda
Poppy Louisa is lovely as a combo, but I share your reservations about Poppy in adulthood.
Isla Juliet does nothing for me - Isla seems trendy and already on its downward slide.

I really love a lot of your combos. I'm a huge Matilda fan. I'd like for it not to get too crazy popular in the U.S. before I have kiddos, but I've kind of given up on having a not so popular name. :)My favorites:Alice Juliet: I think Juliet gives romance to this rather solid (but amazing) first name.Annabel Lux: I love Lux as a middle name, such a great meaning. I'm sure it helps longer names like Annabel flow better with surnames, as well.Liesl Charlotte: I think it is beautiful. I think Liesl is very usable, but knowing many people of German descent, I'm used to names like this. It isn't that far from Louisa, though, right?Matilda Lux: I can't get enough of Lux! However, I love both combos here.Perhaps it is unfair, but to me Poppy doesn't have the same feel as Lily, Rose, Violet which I think have a bit more elegance than Poppy. Part of that might be that I also think of the word "Pop" like soda or the music, or just something bold, which is actually part of the appeal of the name. I feel Daisy is the inbetween name here, it has the boldness of Poppy, but is closer to the other flower names in elegance... However, I'm overanalytical and view things on spectrums, so maybe this is just me being a weirdo.

Thank you for your comments. It seems a lot of people don't think Liesl is too out of the norm. Great to know! I would prefer my daughter to have a name that's a little unique. I know personally I grew up with a lot of Nicola's and I was the only Nicole.. it was refreshing that mine was different. Nicole

I like Annabel Lux, even though the L's kind of run together. It's not as pretty as some of the other combos, but that's the one with the most personality, as far as I'm concerned.

I do usually stay clear of names that end with a letter then start with the same letter but I thought it kinda worked with this one. Thanks for your input, really appreciate it.Nicole

I like Alice Matilda, Alice Juliet, Alice Louisa, Liesl Charlotte, Liesl Matilda, Matilda Alice, Sophie Louisa and Sophie Eleanor. My favourite is probably Liesl Matilda. I'm not keen on Isla, Annabel or Poppy.

Alice Juliet - this name is GORGEOUS. The other two options seem a bit tired and safe.
Annabel Lux - Funky and fun. Really like the unexpected
Annabel Matilda - quirky and woodsy fairytale. Though I'm not a Matilda fan, this is lovely.
I can certainly imagine a grownup Annabel. Annabelle is a touch more childlike, but Annabel is refined and elegant.
Isla Juliet - I'm so blah about Isla. It's pretty but in a rather insubstantial way. It is a lovely sounding combo though, definitely. Lila Juliet is similar and a touch more interesting (though I know you didn't ask for suggestions)Liesl Charlotte - very old European and pretty
Liesl Matilda - Oddly endearing in a discordant way. It makes me think of a storybook heroine, and I do like that. I couldn't say how Liesl would go over in Scotland, as I'm Canadian. I don't find it all that unusual, and maybe people would recognize it from The Sound of Music? It may get mistaken for "Lisa" a lot, if that's a concern for you.
Louisa Charlotte - lovely combo, yes. Very classic.Matilda Alice - another stolid classic, very mature.
Matilda Lux - very sassy and offbeat. I like it!Poppy Eleanor - I really like the contrast between high-energy Poppy and calm, composed Eleanor. I think this is my fave Poppy combo of yours.

Thank you for your comments they were definitely really helpful. I think most of your views on the names have echoed my own.

I guess I'd use Isla, just to be different; I assume it's pretty popular in Scotland so no worries about pronunciation.
The other I just loathe. Alice is drab and tacky at the same time. Matilda is cutesy and old-lady-frumpy at the same time. Louisa is kind of grim. (Louise is better.) Annabel makes me think of a very expensive Victorian collector's doll. Sophie is insipid, though Sophia is nice.
And Poppy is hideous. And yes, it is different than Rose or Lily.

Since she's from Scotland, using Isla just to be different isn't different, unless you're trying to be different from what you think everyone here would say. It's number 4 there, 8 in England/ Wales, and 31 in Northern Ireland. (I'm not trying to start a fight, I just think you're using some non-namenerd logic in your first statement.)I don't have a favorite from your list. If you're going to be naming a baby soon, I'd just go with my gut on what is right. I have the stereotypical most popular name, so I'd rather go with something less common, which means Isla, Sophie and Poppy are farther down on my list of names to use. I'd stick with Leisl, Alice or Matilda.

The fact that I live in Scotland was one of my concerns with using Isla, it is pretty popular up here. But I do like the name. We still have a few months to get the name sorted before baby arrives but I would like to make a decision or at least narrow down my list to just a couple of names sooner rather than later. Thanks for your input it is really appreciated, it does really help to hear what others think. Nicole

Liking the name is more important than its ranking. Like I said before, I'd probably stick with the lower ranking names on the list, but I'd use Sophia, Isabella, or Emma (top ten names where I am) long before Daleyza, Karsyn, or Temperence (much lower ranked names).
