Nico is my preferred nickname for Nicholas/Nicolas/Nikolai as I'm not a fan of Nick, but I don't like it as a given name.
Desmond is nice. I really dislike Priscilla, Lumin reminds me of the intestinal lumen, and Kal-El is just terrible.
I hate the term "ethnic" when applied to names. All names are ethnic. I'd guess that the person probably meant it as a euphemism for black. Reuben isn't tied to any particular race in my opinion, but I hate the "roob" sound and it's all sandwich to me.
Tabitha is all witchy cat. I dislike the "bith" sound and am really put off by the nickname Tabby.
