They probably would, unless you were from around there. I honestly thought they were fine, til I read Taormina and laughed out loud. However, my family is from Sicily and I have been to Messina (where Taormina is), and imagined actually meeting a little Taormina. It's the same as me using Elmira or Randolph as a name. Both are legit, but I live near those cities, so they would be laughable as actual names around here. So - sure, unless you plan on visiting any of those cities, those would be ok names. I personally love Belraine as a name, when it is actually a town in France.

I think Mirissa would be cute. Elmina could work and it seems familiar probably because of the name Elmira. Taormina and Honiara are unattractive to me and seem like they would be difficult names.

Elmina sounds like it has probably seen some use, maybe back in the early 20th century along with names like Alvina and Elvira. It's not an ugly sound, exactly, but it does seem dowdy.
Honiara isn't ugly either but it seems a bit difficult to pronounce and the irritating nn Honey is a very distinct possibility.
Mirissa is pretty, but why bother with the confusing spelling when we have Marissa? If the first syllable is to be pronounced meer, I think the sound is less pretty and more affected-sounding.
Taormina is another tricky one to say, and makes me think of something on an Italian restaurant menu.
