Battle of Fred's
I realised that we have a few names that we like ending in -fred.Alfred, Winifred & Wilfred.Obviously we can only use one. I love Frederick as well but my husband dislikes it :(Which is nicer?Alfred
Wilfred
or
WinifredAlso are Wilfred or Winifred too close to Winston? Our nephews name is Winston, though he often just goes by Boo.

It's a tough choice for sure. I think I'd go for Wilfred. Wilf is nicer than Alf/Alfie and while I do love Winifred, it is a bit close to Winston.

Aw. I like Wilfred the best. It is close to Winston, but not too much I think. Winifred might be pushing it with Winston though.
Howver, cousins have similar names all the time. I have cousins (same side) named Andrew and Andrea - both go by Andy/Andi. I also have a Taylor and a Tayler... one boy and one girl. No one really cares. So, the level of similarity is based on your comfort level. I am not a fan of similarities personally, we rejected Simone because of my nephew Simeon. Alfred is cute, but not really my style. I can't get Batman's butler out of my head... or the nickname Alf. Frederick is great. I do like Frederica too. Too bad he doesn't like it.

I prefer Winifred however I do really like the name Alfred.
I think Fredrick is a very nice name.
I don't think Winston is too similar to the Wilfred or Winifred

I like Alfred and Winifred. Would you call them by any nicknames? No, I don't think Wilfred or Winifred are too close to Winston. I think they're fine.

I like Winifred for a girl, and I prefer Wilfred to Alfred as I'm not keen on Alfie.

Alfred would be my fave of the three, though I am honestly not keen on any of them. Frederick I do love though. Have you thought about using just Fred? That would be my fave option and one your DH might agree to?

I could never agree on Fred. It's too short and doesn't seem like a 'proper' name.. just like calling a kid Jake.

I much prefer the subversiveness of Winifred 'Fred'.
