Feelings about names based on "Flora"?
We've posted multiple polls hoping to help us determine an extended name that is based on the name Flora, which means "flower".The one full name that we keep coming back to is Floraline Sue Mona (flor-ah-LINE). Middle name is sentimental. Last name is Mona. **Nicknames are Flora and Florie. Other first name options have been Floriane, Florianne, Florella and Floretta. All first names would be baby girls given name, but she would mostly be called "Flora" or "Florie". We've gotten so many "dislikes" on our polls, that we just are curious about why you would dislike or like the full names and nicknames. Any honest detailed feedback would be greatly appreciated, (good or bad)!

All of these responses are greatly appreciated...negative ones too!!! I see a trend that most people seem to like/accept Floriane and Flora :)

I like Florence & Flora (hence the handle). Floraline, Florella, & Floretta are so saccharine that they seem like product names... a nice lily-lavender scent that you use to mop with, if I'm being quite honest. I'm sorry, I know that was brutal.Florrie/Florie is cute as a nickname.

Floraline is too L-heavy and sounds vaguely like a transport company, possibly with flowery vehicles. Florella sounds like lingerie, and Florette & Floretta make me think of salad.
But Floriane is lovely, and Flora Sue or Flory Sue would be great, imo. And there's also Florinda, Florita, Florys, Florane, Florencia, & Florena as well as all the others already mentioned.

Floraline sounds like a product, a cheap scened clothesline comes to mind. Oh! Or maybe a hotline where you can order flowers. It has an unattractive, commercial sound and shape.I think Flora on it's own would be awesome. Flora Sue is pretty much perfect. Floriane would be gorgeous as well.

Well, the polls tend to like mainstream names... so anything off-mode is not going to get a lot of positive feedback. Trust me... one trendy name in the midst of tons of dusty gems and all the love will go to the trendy one. As for Flora... I adore this as a full name on it's own. So that is my suggestion. Flora Sue Mona or Flora Susan Mona would work. Otherwise, I like Floriane the best of your list. I have liked that name for a while and find it to be elegant and classy. Floraline is ok, but it has a krea8tive vibe that kind've bothers me. Plus, the use of "L" at the start of the first and third syllable is a bit tongue-twisty. It works, but I am not totally sold on it. Florella is a bit much to me, and seems like just another name with Ella tacked on. It pretty, but expected... and detracts from the beauty of Flora. Floretta is just not my style personally. I would love to meet one, as it is a bold and gutsy choice - but I can't say I love it. I think I would appreciate Florelle or Florette as alternatives to these though. Though, Florelle is a lot like Floral. Hmm. Some elegant suggestions to add to your options:
Florentina - bold and classy
Floriana - very on-trend with modern styles
Florence - so chic

Floraline sounds commercial, perhaps a competitor for Interflora. Floriane is the best of the rest, but I don't see the point of using it if she'd be known as Flora or Florie. What's so bad about naming her Flora Sue?

I like invented and combined names, but Floraline sounds overbaked to me - with the two L sounds in it, plus the R too. Like Lurline. Only not as bad. Just a similar impression. Also, the word floral in it. (Sorry)I like Floriane / -anne and Floretta.
Florieta / -etta, and Floriana would also be appealing.
Florella sounds like a bacterium to me, and again, those Ls!Have you considered Florentina? Florimel or Floramel (the mel being a smush with Melissa etc)? Florienne? Floribel? Florabeth? Floramia? Florisa / -issa? I think they're all interesting smushes, that don't give me a "mouthful" impression like Floraline.I like Flora, and I like Florie alright but I'd spell it Flory. In the style of Rory and Romy and Dory and Posy. I think Flory seems more fanciful and sweet, and looks less Florence-y and frumpy, as it evokes Florrie less. Flori too, could be cute.

Floribel is actually quite lovely.

I like Floribel so much! Only problem is that it's too close to a baby cousin's name that also ends in Belle.
