Literary brothers
What are your thoughts on Harper and Marlowe for brothers? I came up with the sibset while speaking to a friend who is also a name enthusiast. Any ideas for a third sibling, boy or girl, if you feel up to it? Much obliged!

I don't like it. Mostly because those names are used widely on girls nowadays. A brother would probably be Holden.

Harper is typically feminine due to Harper Lee. It is becoming increasingly popular, so he would be the lone boy Harper knowing several girls of the same name. Marlowe is a fine boys name and the nick name Marley would be cute when he's young. For a third sibling my first thought was Raleigh after Sir Walter Raleigh who was a fine poet as well as an explorer. Raleigh's "The Nymph's Reply to the Shepherd" is a hilarious response to Marlowe's "The Passionate Shepherd to His Love." Tennyson- Alfred Tennyson
Faulkner- William Faulkner
Doyle- Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Lewis- C.S. Lewis
Byron- George Gordon Byron
Hawthorne- Nathaniel Hawthorne
Chaucer- Geoffrey Chaucer
Dante- Dante Alighieri
Milton- John Milton
Spenser- Edmund Spenser
Marvell- Andrew Marvell although it might be confused with the comic creators.
Dryden- John Dryde
Thoreau- Henry David Thoreau

More Feminine:
Malory- Thomas Malory
Brontë- Emily, Jane, Anne Brontë
Shelley- Mary Shelley
Virginia- Virginia Woolf
Christie- Agatha Christie

I don't find either name appealing in the least. Harper always has a "look at how well read I am naming my kid after the last book I read...in 9th grade." vibe and Marlowe for Christopher Marlowe seems equally try hard. They are also very popular for girls, and while I am a big fan of taking back the boys names there are much better options.

I see AR as second and third letter so continuing on that theme:
Carlisle
Darwin
Farah
Larissa
Sariah
Taryn

Love them!!I love Harper and Marlowe for boys. I have no idea why anyone uses them for girls! Harper and Marlowe are very strong and masculine to me.

Harper is not really my style, but I do like Marlowe. I think Harper could grow on me a bit, I've never really considered it on a boy. It's much better than on a girl. Harper, Marlowe, and Emerson
