Clay - Cowboy mostly, though it also has the flavor of a dastardly nobleman.
Nicholas (who doesn't use a nickname ) - Nickleby. Makes me think of Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby, a compassionate young man with a somewhat short temper who will do anything for those he loves.
Marcus - A past-his-prime but still competent knight.
Lloyd - An overweight, selfish boy of perhaps twelve.
Donovan - A dark-haired and dark-complexioned young man with a chip on his shoulder. Probably a loner vigilante.
Dale - A newspaper reporter. Generally a friendly guy, but he'll dig deep to get the facts.
