Re: Saul
Eep. Yeah... I guess the biblical Sauls are not the greatest role models... but I still think the name has merit for having a strong feel to it despite the airiness of it's sound. It's just a solid choice, and makes people think of firmness (maybe that's just me!). Both Biblical Sauls were powerful men. One had God's favor and gave it up for jealousy, and the other was a terrible, terrible man who changed his ways and became an influential and great man. So... in either case, the strength of the name seems embedded... and conveys and idea of free will and possibility to choose your destiny. Again, that is what I get from the stories. In any case - I like Saul. It not common, but it's quirky and fun compared to the naming styles of today. I don't put much stock in pop culture references since they fade. This name is short, sweet and very usable imo. ______________________________________________
