Zale / Zayle
What do you think of Zale / Zayle?I actually had a name dream last night. In that dream I had a daughter, and for some reason I named her Zale but was thinking about spelling it Zayle as well.
I quite like the name in theory, but more for a boy than a girl. I wouldn't use it though, and then there's "sale". Probably wouldn't be the best idea for a name. Still interested in your opinions and impressions though.

As with Vale in the post below, I can't say the sound of Zale / Zayle does much for me but it's not bad. I did think of the jewelry store and then of Zane, which I do quite like. I prefer the Zale spelling and do think it sounds like a masculine name.ETA: Just read Whim's suggestion of Zale as a nickname for Azalea and, in that context, I certainly could come around to hearing it as a feminine nickname.

Zale / Zayle seems more feminine to me. I do think of the mall jewelry store, but I don't think that matters that much. If the name you proposed were Zales, it would matter.I think it's alright. Not bad. I agree with whim, that Azalea called Zale is more appealing.

Phew! It's not just me that dreams about having random children.I kind of like Zale. Unfortunately for me Zales is a jewelry store. Zayle makes me think it as well. Azalea would be a nice alternative where Zale could be a nickname.

Good thought on Azalea "Zale"......I could see it working on a girl in that context.

Ah. Never heard of the jewelry store, we don't have it here. I agree Zale could work as a nickname for Azalea.

agreed.I thought of Zales, too. But Azalea w/ nn might work. (though I much prefer the nns Lea or Zalea, which I'd say zayl-yuh not that it matters) ;)
