Why doesn't anyone like the name Eyan?
I put this names on too many of my polls, and i thought it was a cool spelling of Ian. Do you like the name Eyan. Or is there other spellings of Eyan besides Eyan, Ean, or Eoin.

Whether it is or isn't cool is not the point. Eyan, apart from looking like Eeyore's cousin, suggests the sound IEan, rather than EEan. There is of course Iain as an alternative to Ian. Just as Owen is an alternative to Eoin. But the alternative is only in the spelling, not the pronunciation. If you really need an alternative pronunciation, I recommend the marvellous Ieuan.

Eyan looks like the parents didn't know how to spell Ian / Iain or they were dumbing the spelling down for others. I also want to emphasize the EYE sound when I see it written down. In general, I don't care for kr8if spellings and feel they take away from the integrity of a name. JMHO. Eoin isn't bad, but it's not pronounced the same as Ian / Iain either. It's pronounced Owen.Hope this helps.

How do you say it? I pronounce Ian as EE-en and Eyan as EYE-en. I think that Eyan would be mistaken as Evan quite a lot, and honestly it looks like a poor attempt at feminization. I wouldn't use it.I've always liked Ion, but that has a completely different pronunciation.

Why complicate a simple, handsome name? Ian is lovely and classic.
Eyan is horrible. I would pronounce it Eye-an not Ee-an
Theres also Iain and Ean (though I think the pron. for this might be slightly different)

this. Ian is lovely, no need to mess it up.

My problem is that Eyan looks like it is telling me to pronounce it differently from Ian. Like it should be EYE-an or EH-yan. Ian is so simple, that Eyan looks overbaked. There's Iain.
