Opinions on Vance and Vivienne
I have recently fell in love with the names Vance and Vivienne. Both of which are family names, although Vivienne is an alternate spelling of Vivian. What is your opinion on these two names? Would they make for good sibling names? I have also grown to love the combination Vivienne Ellis, Ellis being after my grandmother, Elizabeth. Do you think that Ellis is close enough to Elizabeth to be considered a variation? I haven't yet found a combination that I love for Vance. Two family names that I also like for a boy are Curtis/Kurtis and Harvey, but neither seem to go with Vance. If you have any suggestions for middle/first names to go along with it, feel free to suggest them. Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure about Vance and Vivienne for siblings but I love Vivienne it's so sassy. Vance is not my style, but is okay. I don't like Vivienne Ellis, Ellis is 100% male to me, Vivienne Elisabeth, Vivienne Bethan or Vivienne Elspeth would be much better in my opinion, or even Vivienne EllaI like Harvey, but dislike Curtis. I think Vance Curtis sounds okay, though I don't like it, but Vance Harvey doesn't go imo

Are you a Huge Fan of Vivian Vance? (there was a user on this site with that as their username, it just seems like a fun coincidence)I think they make fine sibling names, as long as Vance is a boy.I like Vivienne, but I don't like it as much as Vivien or Vivian. Vivienne seems to have the stress on the final syllable, or else it's just frilled up / Frenchified.Ellis is not close enough to Elizabeth to be a variation. It's not close enough to Elizabeth to be considered a variation, either. But it is close enough to work as a reference to an ancestor Elizabeth, if you believe it functions that way. What about Elise? Vivienne Elise? That's a "real" variation, if you are concerned about that.I don't really like the name Vance. It sounds sort of aggressive to me, and a little surnamey. It's not bad, just nms. I prefer Vaughn. I think Vance Harvey is a fine combination.

LOL. You know, I didn't even notice the Vivienne/Vance sibset's closeness to Vivian Vance, and I consider myself to be "I Love Lucy"'s biggest fan! Kind of makes me have second thoughts about Vivienne and Vance as a sibset, TBH. Although I'm not sure how many people, particularly young people, would make the connection.Well, I wish HugeFanOfVivVance were here. I'd love to see her opinion.

I thought of Vivian Vance right away (which was one of the coolest names ever btw). Lucy was born in my town, so I know at least one whole county that would make the connection right away!As for the names themselves, love them. I also was going to suggest Vivienne Elise instead of Ellis, to honor an Elizabeth. It just has a classier sound. I like all Vivienne variations, so this one is fine. In fact, it used to be my favorite... until I decided that Vivian is so much prettier. Vivien is the strongest spelling of the three though. All of them work well today. Vance is a GP name of mine. I do like Vaughn, but Vance a little better. Vance Harvey is actually kinda cool I think - so that works. Vance Elliot or Vance Elian might honor an Elizabeth as well. Otherwise Vance needs a multi-syllable pairing, like Vance Alexander, Vance Bromley or Vance Oliver... Vance Martin is kinda classy though too.

I love both Vance and Vivienne and think they make a great sibset. I like when two names start with the same letter, although I think it's puky when carried to an extreme. But two is great. However, I don't like Ellis as a middle name for a girl and I don't at all think that it can be considered a variation of Elizabeth. I don't think that Ellis can be considered to be honoring Elizabeth. I would just go with Vivienne Elizabeth. Although it is a bit of a mouthful, I would consider it truly honoring. I think Harvey goes fine with Vance.

Vivienne's nice, though I prefer Vivian. Don't care much for Vance.

I like both names. Vance (and Van/n) is getting very trendy here in Australia so i'm not as keen on it. Vane and Vivienne are very V heavy, I don't really like siblings starting with the same letter, however these aren't too "matchy".Ellis is much too masculine for me and I would have no idea it was supposed to be a variation on Elizabeth. Vivian Ellis sounds handsome for a boy. Vivienne Eliza would be gorgeous and so pretty!for Vance:Vance Alexander
Vance Rupert
Vance Everett
Vance Theodore
Vance Ezekiel
Vance Leander
Vance Ambrose
Vane Magnus
Vance Horatio
Vance Leopold
Vance Casper
Vance Jacoby
Vance William
Vance Quinten
Vance Lucian
Vance Cecil
Vance Alfred

I personally have always liked Vance, and although Vivienne is not something I would use, I do think it is very pretty. However, if you are considering them as a sibset I feel like they may be too similar? That's just my opinion though and others might not think having the V in common is too similar. Anyway, Vivienne Ellis sounds really nice, I think Ellis as a variant of Elizabeth is a bit of a stretch, but it still might make people think of Elizabeth, because of the common beginning. As for Vance, I don't think Vance Harvey or Kurtis/Curtis Vance sound too bad. Combinations for Vance:
Vance Christopher
Vance Harrison
Vance Edward
Vance Tristan
Vance Fletcher
Vance Maverick
Vance Xavier
Henry Vance
Oliver Vance
Preston Vance (?)
Quentin Vance
William Vance
