Cynthia - goes by Cindy.
Not to be TMI or rude, but except for the hair color - this pretty much describes my mother. Except it was my father, not stepfather, who raised us. Her name is the beautiful Cynthia... but she hates it and chooses to go by Cindy. Which just cements her personality.
I like the idea of having a classy longer name with a more common or vulgar nickname... it shows the lost potential of the character. Besides Cynthia, something like Diana (Dee) or Angela (Angie) would work too.
