HelpRe: Can I still use Oscar?

My friend's sister was named after a dog! Josie. Not Josephine, because the dog was just Josie. And a Labrador, and very beautiful.
Stay with Oscar-the-person, I think. Oscar-the-cat, if he's anything like any cat I've ever owned or been owned by, will respond to or ignore any and every name according to how he feels at the time. And Oscar-the-person's potential grandparents clearly like the name!
The only alternative I can think of would be Oswald, if you like O- names, or something more medieval like Alaric if that's the appeal of Oscar.
