Marcela looks prettier to me, so elegant in its simplicity. Marcy is OK, but I prefer Ella. Marie is also a nice nickname.

I prefer the Marcella spelling. I do like the nickname Marcy, but prefer it spelt Marcie.* Marcella is one of my favourite girls names!

I love Marcella! Marcela is also delightful.Marcy is a cute nickname, though I prefer Cella / Zella.

I like Marcella the best. I dilike Marcy, but I love the nn Zella for Marcella. Actually I love it just as a given name, but if I decided I wanted a full name for it, it would be Marcella.

Marcela doesn't happen where I live, so Marcella all the way. I prefer it to Marcelle.I dislike Marcy.

1. I prefer it with the double L- it just looks more "complete" to me.2. I think Marcy is adorably retro. Personally, I like it a lot more than Marcella and would use it by itself, but I also understand the desire for a longer formal name.

Marcella, but Marcela is appealing too. Marcela just seems more Spanish-y to me.
I don't find Marcy very appealing as a baby name - but I think the reason I am not attracted to it, is because I see it as dated. I think of Marcy as someone over fifty. If I were naming an adult woman character, I'd think Marcy was a good name.

Marcella looks more complete to me. I really don't like Marcy / Marcie. Have you considered Marceline?

Marceline is lovely, but at first glance doesn't have the same fullness that Marcella has. Hmm, I'll have to think on it. :)

Marcella is my preferred spelling, if only because it's more familiar. I don't like Marcy, it sounds like a whiny know-it-all.
