13 Boys
Sorry if this has been posted recently, but I haven't noticed it. There's a family from near me with 12 sons who was expecting their 13th. Their baby was just born and it's another boy, not named yet. I found the names of their 12 sons:Tyler
Zach
Drew
Brandon
Tommy
Vinnie
Calvin
Gabe
Wesley
Charlie
Luke
TuckerI can imagine they're having trouble coming up with more boy names by now! What would you name 13 boys?
Do you think you would keep them more with a uniform feel or a bit here and there like I think this family's are?

I think I heard this story as well! Sheesh, 13 boys... never a dull moment in that house, I'm sure.Of their names I would probably only use Wesley and Luke - and Brandon if it weren't so terribly common in the Midwest. If *I* had thirteen boys? Well, if I were the only one with naming input:Dominic Edmond
Malcolm Elliott
Nicholas Adrian
Dorian Harris
Donovan Wyatt
Tristan Silas
Bennett Ethan
Emmett Alexander
Kevin Xavier
Cameron Isaac
William Maxwell
Brendan Arthur
Noah Spencer

I love Dominic and Nicholas and quite like Dorian, Emmett and William. Alexander and Arthur are very handsome middle names that are on my name list as well. It is nice to see Malcolm being used.

I like your girls list, but I myself certainly wouldn't want an Adie, Addie, and Hattie together. Too much confusion for me!

Dear lord, are they trying for a girl or did they always intend on having that many?? ADOPT, for chrissake, lolThe names all fit together, though I'd prefer full names. I think Tyler, Zachary, Andrew, Brandon,Thomas,Vincent, Calvin, Gabriel, Wesley, Charles, Luke, and Tucker feel like a more polished set. Mine would be...Mars
Abram
Caspar
Leyland
Gordon
Ansel

Certainly wouldn't have put those together, but whatever. *sigh*
Let's see... I would go with:
Benedict Troilus
Florian Caius
Cyril Gratiano
Gresham Romeo
Sebastian Lysander
Marlowe Valentine
Tiernan Demetrius
Dashiell Bassanio
Hadley Francisco
Lennox Junius
Evander Shylock
Alexis Mercutio
Willoughby Paris
Would I give them all those first names? Quite likely.
Would I give them all Shakespearean middle names? Depends on the drugs they put me on at the hospital really.
Luckily, I've been into most of those first names for over a decade so I can't see my style jumping around too much like theirs seems to.

I feel like siblings named Basil and Dorian is a disaster waiting to happen. Make sure Basil's door has a good lock on it.

Haha. Yeah, I thought about that when I was creating the sibset, but I didn't think anyone would notice.

Wow. Makes me wonder if Dad has some kind of weird fertility issue. lol. But I guess it happens. Bet she has a housekeeper ...I am sure that most anyone who had to name 13 kids over 22 years would have their tastes change a little over time. It seems like they have been picking fashionable names for the most part. Some of those names are faves of mine (Drew, Brandon, Charlie).Ours might be:
Nicholas
Marshall
Damon
Charlie (Charles)
Francis
Adrian
Julian
Conrad
Cyrus
Eric
Alexander
Ray (Raymond)
Tom (Thomas)Names that would be on this list if my husband had not already rejected them and I'd expect he'd continue to do so even if we had 13 sons: Robin, Merrick, Rowan.

Having 13 boys would drive me crazy! And it's insane that they had a 1 in 8,000 chance of having 13 boys in a row, and they did. Haha.If I had 13 boys, I'd name them:Evander
Alasdair
Damian
Silas
Aubrey
Morgan
Lucian
Desmond
Flynn
Gareth
Leon
Matthias
Emeric I do think my names have a unified feel. They are all softer sounding male names, imo. I like soft consonants like l, m, and n in my male names for some reason. I'm going to do 13 girls just for fun too. My girl names will be more all over the place than my boy names. Haha.Calista
Talitha
Eleanor
Evelina
Branwen
Ariana
Sophie
Muriel
Guinevere
Drusilla
Lydia
Marsaili

I read that yesterday. Thirteen sons! It would be my nightmare come true, lol. I'm not sure I could come up with 26 names (fn, mn) for that many boys. I'll attempt to name them without mns. I wouldn't follow a pattern, btw, since I'd be lucky enough just to find 26 male names that I liked.Adam

Oy vey, 13 boys!! My grandma used to tell me about a family she knew that kept trying for a girl-- they had 9 boys and the 10th was a girl. This family surpasses that even!My 13 boys:
Theodore
Augustine
Benedict
Pascal
Alexander
Linus
Felix
Blaise
Edmond
Sebastian
Francis
Jonas

I kind of think all the names work well together. I don't quite know why, they just seem to somehow, way less varied than my favourites atm! But I it'll take me more than 13 sons to get to use all the names I love/want to use! Some of these are very similar, but I love them so much, I've put less similar alternatives too.Caspian
Phoenix
Edmund
Lorenzo
Timothy
August
Prosper
Horatio
Artemus
Nikolai
Finn
Hamish

They are a bit scattered, style-wise, but I imagine their tastes shifted as time went on (I don't know the age gaps, but even if they had one kid a year that's still 12+ years of naming kids - my tastes were vastly different 12 years ago!). Most of the names are nms, but Wesley is one of my favorites.Mine would be:Frederick "Freddie"
Leopold "Leo"
Oswin
Wesley
Tobias "Toby"
Corin
Linus
Clyde
Simon
Desmond
Caspar
Milo
Ferran

5: Cyrus
6: Benjamin
7: Griffith

Wow, that is a lot of boys. #CaptainObviousI like Drew, Gabe (as a nickname) and I like Tucker as a GP. I can't imagine that my husband and I would agree on enough boys names that we could keep a uniform feel! Actually, even I probably wouldn't by myself. I love boys names though, so I could totally name 13:
Rafferty
Niko
Lachlan
Murdoch
Whitaker
Sterling
MacKinley
Kai
Roman
Cadell
Quincy

It's very unlikely that one would have 13 bio kids who are all the same gender. I'm just stating a fact. I'm assuming that some of them are adopted? The chances of birthing that many kids and somehow they all end up the same gender would be excessively rare. Not saying it won't happen, just really rare. That alone, the names are fine. I see nothing wrong with them.
My favs are Zach, Drew, Tommy, Charlie, Luke and Tucker. The names are all classics, they go perfect together
vote up1
It's a 1 in 8,000 chance, and yes they are all biological!
vote up1
Nope, all biological of the same two parents. That's why it's been so in the news. So statistically unlikely, which I think is really cool!
vote up1
Ah, OK. Yeah, that is excessively rare. My grandmother birthed 13 kids (from the same parents as well) and the genders turned out 6 boys and 7 girls (my mom being the 13th)I can't see myself having birthing that many kids and especially having them all the same gender. Lord help me lol!!
vote up1
I can't imagine that either! My grandmother is one of 8 kids. The oldest one is a boy, and the rest of them are girls. :)

Hmm, I'm a bit scatty about boy's names so maybe I wouldn't be as uniform as I would with girls. It'd probably be a mix with French, Gaelic and classic names. To be honest, in general I'm not keen on these names.Tyler- I like it, but it's far too popular
Zach- nice
Drew- ew, I much prefer Andrew
Brandon- again, it's a big no for me
Tommy- nice, but I'd prefer Thomas, Tomos or Tom with this as a nickname
Vinnie- again, it's better as a nickname, plus I don't really like it
Calvin- love it
Gabe- ew, no- at least go for Gabriel
Wesley- I don't have a problem with it but I just don't like the sound
Charlie- nice, but better as a nickname I don't like Charles so this one's a dilemma for me
Luke- like it
Tucker- NO NO NO THIS IS AN ABOMINATION

I would imagine that the nicknamey names really are nicknames. I don't know for sure, but seems more likely.
