IKR? Nathan is a perfectly nice name, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it, but it's definitely not what I expected from them! I've been waiting months to hear what this baby was going to be called because I was sure it was going to be interesting and out there, and after all that waiting....it's just Nathan. Rather anti-climatic!

I wish I could tell you what Golden's middle name is, but they've never mentioned it so I have no idea. If I ever find out, I'll let you know!

I'm not surprised by this, actually makes sense to me. As I mentioned in my earlier post, Golden is a surname of a couple of Jewish families I know. Nathan is also a name commonly used among Jewish Americans, at least around where I live. Different styles (and I have no idea if that's what this family was getting at) but I can kind of see the same track. I like it!

Ha. Makes me wonder how much of the name style difference is due to the different parents, and how much is due to the different sex of the child, and how much is due to negative aspects of Golden's experience of being unusually named. I think it's a good thing they are girl and boy, or else it'd be kind of weird to have one child named "Golden" and one with a common and typical sounding name.

Anyway congrats to them, Nathan's a nice name.
