I don't like giving animals human names either, because it seems boring to me. "This is my dog, Samantha!" Huh. All right, then. :P

Unless it's so boring it's funny. I find the idea of naming a cat Steve or Dave to be hilarious. We once had a cat named Bill.

I can see the fun in that. It's when people pick "serious" human names for their pets I don't get. I always think, "It's a dog/cat. Why so serious with the name?"
