Trixie
Do you like Trixie? Do you think it's silly? Does it work as a full name or should it always be a nickname for Beatrix or maybe Beatrice?

I'm not really sure about this name. I definitely think that it doesn't work as a full name. I think it should stick to being a nickname :)

Actually I really like this name for a dog. I think it should be on a nickname only basis for a human.

My Beatrice daughter was sometimes known as Triskie in her extreme youth, but never Trixie. She found it frivolous. When I was a child and my Beatrice mother was known as Bea (mostly, but sometimes, reluctantly, Beattie), the people across the road got a very nice wire-haired terrier puppy that they named Trixie, so it's always been mostly canine to me - I think my mother was a little startled at her semi-namesake, but she never said!I think the meaning is too blatant. I'd be really sorry for a plump, boring couch-potato Trixie - also a gloomy or aggressive Joy, and I've known both. Too much to live up to, too much of a risk.

I think Trixie is really cute whether on its own or as a nn.

I think Trixie is really cute and don't find it silly at all. I definitely think Trixie can be a full name, but it's also nice as a nn for Beatrix.

I think it's way to childish as a full name, but as a nickname for Beatrice / Beatrix it's fabulous. I have a feel soft spot for old fashioned nicknames.

I hate Beatrix and Beatrice a lot, so that puts me on the wrong side of Trixie. It sounds like Tricksy! Oh you're so tricksy, Trixie! You fox you.Bah.I dunno, I can imagine it being cool for someone. Sort of a punkish name. Not a professional's name. A professional would be Bea at work, and Trixie when she played in the band on the weekends or headed out with her motorcycle club. lol

I don't think it's worse than Mitzi. I kind of like it, actually. Yes, I think it should be a NN for Beatrix or Beatrice.

I think it's a cute nickname for Beatrix. It could work for Beatrice, but I much prefer Beatrix.

Standing up for Trixie. Absolutely LOVE it! :)I absolutely love Trixie, probably because I adore vintage nicknames (as full names) and I associate Trixie with a character I really love (actually Beatrix but almost exclusively Trixie). I think because of that, I feel like Trixie is a feisty, energetic name, that could work on a woman of any age, and isn't overly juvenile or, as most seem to consider it to be, a 'stripper' and/or pet name. I have it on my list as a full name, because I think it can work, and it's actually quite popular where I live (England). But, although I'm not the biggest fan of nicknames, I do like the idea of Beatrix nn Trixie too. Basically I love Trixie, even though, sadly, it seems to bring up a lot of negative connotations and dislike from quite a lot of people.

Quite possible because of the built in sounds of "tricks" into the name, it is a joke name for strippers and prostitutes where I live. Not fair, but true.
I could get behind it as a nickname, just in case it caused problems in life.

I never knew anybody called this; I don't expect to, unless it's a dog or a horse or something.
I think Trixie is more a joke name then anything else, or something a hooker or a stripper would call herself ... around 1960, maybe. It's just too dumb to be believed.

Nickname only. You could probably get away with using it for Patrice too. It's very much a pet name to me though. As in, animals. I hear it a lot on dogs around here.
