Interesting and intrequing question.
With me, I avoid alliteration, same endings and try to balance the sylabbles out.
So combos such as:
Samantha Sadie
Amanda Nora
Elizabeth Alexandria
Would be what I would personally advoid. If I were to pair Samantha with some other name, my rules would be that it can't start with an S or end in "A"
