I like Damian the most. It's not my favorite, but it's fine.Dara is not a boys name to me. It just sounds feminine.Derek sounds quite harsh to me, plus I think of Derek Shephard of Grey's Anatomy when I hear it. Nah!Desmond sounds old-fashioned and a little too majestic. They all match together... kind of, but that doesn't count much in my opinion if the names themselves don't work out well. AND I'm not a fan of siblings' names starting with the same initial letter. This can be really messed up.

Damian - I've never liked it. Evil associations aside, It sounds whiny to me.Dara - Very nice! It's generally not my style but I can see the appeal. Super Irish but not obnoxious.Derek - It's fine, I think I've just never liked the way it looks. Surprisingly I think I'd prefer a more creative spelling like Derrick, which just looks cleaner to me. Anyway, there have been quite a few baby Dereks in my area in the last 10 years or so due to Derek Jeter. :)Desmond - Yay! So Beatles. Desmond is great. I think I'm generally a fan of anything that ends with -mond for some reason. So I'd rank these, favorite to least favorite:
Desmond
Dara
Derek
Damian

I really like Damian; also Damien. Dara seems too Irish for general use.Derek is actually pretty nice. One big advantage is that it's practically impossible to form a nn from it, except for Del, which doesn't happen where I live. And it can also be a nn itself, for Frederick, so though it's dated I think it's usable.Desmond is flat-line boring, bordering on the unpleasant. It's a ln, of course, which might give it an extra boost, but not to me.

Damian - I don't exactly dislike it, but I don't like it either. Reminds me of Damian Wayne from DC Comics and adaptations. It has a sort of "rich, entitled brat" feel to it (probably due in no small part to the Damian Wayne association).Dara - sounds very feminine, and I'm not sure what the other spellings would even be. Feels similar to Daria.Derek - really like this one. :) Reminds me of Prince Derek from 'The Swan Princess'. He's kind of an idiot who grows into being kind of a hero. The name has a very strong feel to it. I've liked it since I was a kid.Desmond - no really strong feelings about this one. Kind of sounds like a prep school boy. Not sure what it could be shortened to: Desi?

I like Damian. Dara, in my opinion, is a girl's name. Derek is all right, but nms. I don't like Desmond at all.

Personally, I'm not fond of it. My brother named all four of his kids with E names and it gets confusing, comical, and irritating when you're talking about all of them at once. Not to mention, their names get mixed up on regular basis. (Evan, Ethan, Elizabeth, and Eric)

Even though Damian is in no way associated with the devil, I will always think if it when I hear this name.
Until I discovered Dara Ó Briain I assumed this was a girls name.
I have only heard the name Derek on old people. (60+)
Desmond, however, I like. Not enough to use, but I like it.
