I'm getting creative and making up some names. What do you think? Can you or have you made any up that you like? Or even hate?
(some of these could very well turn out to be actual names... we'll see how it goes)Cheslyn
Aslana
Kerrison
Jao
Lexton
Hannette
Jodianne
Sarabeth
Ciaralyn

Most of the names are too modern for me but I like the sound of Aslan and Sarabeth. Also Ciaralyn is nice.Names I've made up...
Malalei - Coming from the name Malalai. I made it for one of the characters in one of my stories but I changed it to a spelling I preferred and changed the sound from Ma-la-lay to Ma-La-Lee.GracielynJuliettieJuliettiaJunayaYoralyn

I like Sarabeth. There is a singer/songwriter called Sarabeth Tucek.Names I've made up when I was younger:Zakarvina (or Saakavina)
Lavendela (a mix of the Swedish word for lavender, lavendel, and Vendela)
Tulpaniana (based on the Swedish word for tulip, tulpan. Pr. tul-pa-ni-AH-nah)
Mimika (MIM-i-ka), a mix of Mimi and Annika
Jonnabeth, a mix of Johanna and Elisabeth
Laikala (LIE-ka-la)
Morrow (from the word tomorrow)
Gracela (GRACE-e-la), I think this was just a play with the name Grace or GracelynMy brother made up the name Anavarta (for a boy) when he was little.
My cousin made up the name Milanima (mi-LA-ni-ma) for a fantasy story. It means "a thousand souls".

Oh, by the way...I also made up Maiani and Noani (ma-YA-nee and no-AH-nee) for a story and Mirandine for another story.

I actually kind of like Gracela. I suppose it could also be spelled Gracella?I made up a few names when I was a kid/teen, but I don't think I can remember any of them now, at least not how to spell them. One was Keezen or something like that. He was an alien. He wasn't even the most important character in that story, but he's the one who's name I remember.

When I was in high school I made up Braea. I know people name their kid that now (usually spelled Braya), but I like my spelling better.

I don't have too many names to add but I recently met a Dextina and I can't stop thinking about how much I like it and it suited her really well.

Kerrison- looks like a misspelling of Kerrigan
Jao- misspelling of Joao
Sarabeth- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VLxOWGsjHjs&list=PL87795B6714824217
Jodianne, Sarabeth, and Ciaralyn would all look better as two names Jodi Anne, Sara Beth, and Ciara Lyn

There's a very good rugby player where I live called Cheslin Kolbe. I prefer that to the y spelling for a male name.Jao is so close to Joao that it'd cause confusion, surely?I've never met a Jodianne or a Sarabeth, but I've seen references to both.Ciaralyn is far too close for comfort to Carolyn.

Cheslyn is not my style at all. Sounds like combination of Chester and Lyn
Kerrison - For girls? I hate when parents give names ending -SON.
Jao - Sounds like Asian - Korean and Chinese ancestry. Better is Portugal version Joao
Lexton - that's surname rather
Hannette, Jodianne, Ciaralyn - too complicated
Sarabeth - Sounds like ScarabI like Ciara or Chiara but with ending -lyn is too complicated and unnecessary. My suggestions:
Pulnoční Bouře
Jestřáb "YEST-zha:b" (Hawk Eye)
Modřín (Larix)
Agneszka "Ahg-nesh-kah"
Aneszka
Stasia
Veatrix
Bereniké
Betlindis
Berchta
Kazi
Draguše
Doubrava
Genovefa
Gisil
Gisal
Gudrůn
Halka
Hadewig
Fialka
Ingen
Esetdor
Ishilt
Lada
Líbena
Ludiše
Mahulena
Madalwine
Morwyn

I recently made up Greylyn and didn't think it was too bad. Also Helyn but I feel like maybe someone already invented that. I kind of liked the sound of Hildebel. From your list, Sarabeth sounds pretty good, and it would surprise me if no one thought of it before. (What with all the Annabelle / Marianne / Annabeth / Roseann names going around.) And Hannette also sounds like it may very well have been given to a few girls at some point.I could probably come up with a few more, but my brain is blank right now.

Our babysitter sits for a girl named Graylyn (no idea how it's actually spelled).

:) I suppose every time I think I've "invented" a name, I should Google it. Looks like I was right in my guess that Helyn exists already as well.

Cheslyn is not my style at all.
I really like Aslana. It's pretty and regal sounding but not frilly.
Kerrison is good.
Jao is pretty good.
Lexton is average. Sounds a bit trendy.
I don't really like Hannette but I'm not sure why. Names it reminds me of: Harriette, Annette, Hannelore, Hannabeth, Hannabree, Hattienne. Also reminds me of Annexe, another Annette-related name I used for some character once.
Jodianne sounds too dated for me. I like some -anne names but not all, because a lot of them sound dated. Korianne is one I've met recently. Others... Lisanne, Alisanne, Rosanne, Lilianne, Ruthanne. There's also names like Julianne (another sort of dated one). I've also met a Morganne.
I like Sarabeth a lot. It's pretty and humble-sounding but not common. Like Annabeth but sounds slightly older. I like a lot of -beth names, actually. Sarabeth, Annabeth, Rosabeth, Carabeth, Lilibeth (Lilybeth?) etc.
Ciaralyn is meh (I like Ciara but I don't like "lyn" names in general). I'd prefer Ciaralin although that isn't as obviusly feminine. Ciarlin? Or is that too much like Carlin? Hmm...

Cheslyn - sounds OK-ish, nothing further to add
Aslana - sounds like a name for a fantasy character
Kerrison - reminds me of kerisene
Jao - not liking the sound
Lexton - I quite like this actually, maybe it has some potential to be given to a baby
Hannette - only applies to someone named Hannah, whose mother has the same name
Jodianne - maybe it would look better when hyphened or separated
Sarabeth - /\
Ciaralyn - /\Some of my own made-up names:
Keristi (girl)
Jodeph (boy)
Curney (both)
Kraih (boy)
Roderinga (both)
Deborson (boy)
Vallaigh (both)
Gritta (girl)
Tamyn (both)
Roana (girl)
