Big, over the top boys' names
As the title says, I guess! Think Petronia, Iphigenia, Artemisia, Eglantine, but for boys. Firstly, I did a quick BtN search based on syllables. Any that stick out to you, for better or worse? Bolded are my own favourites, but of course I like them all to some degree, hence my picking them out.Alberico
Aloysius (German pronunciation preferred)
Amadeus
Apolinary
Archelaus
Aureliano
Bartholomew
Benedictus
Benvolio (didn't come up in the search, of course)
Calogero
Hesekiel
Horatio
Konstantin
Leopoldo
Ludovico
Maximiliano
Michelangelo
Montague
Montgomery
Nicodemus
Octavian
Theodosius
Valentino
Zacharias
ZephaniahSecondly, can you think of any to add to the list? Open to anything, but the clunkier and more ancient, historic the better. * I'll probably look up Shakespearean names in the morning. Might be some more gems there.*Much obliged!
Ottilie

My favorites from this list:Aloysius
Amadeus
Apolinary - Wow I've never seen this but I really like it!
Bartholomew
Leopoldo
Michelangelo - I wish more people would use this. I see Italian-American families use names like Giancarlo and Gianluca but I want them to go all out and use Michelangelo.
Montague
Montgomery
Octavian - My sister used to say she'd name a son Octavian and I hope she really does haha. How about:Demetrius - one of my top names
Amerigo
Malvolio
Mercutio
Mercurian - made this up but I kind of like it?

I don't really have anything to add. But a compliment because its hard for me to find boy names I like, Even more so ones that stand up to my love of heavy girl names. So this thread is amazing for me to find new boy names. Maeleachlainn in particular has stuck with me.

My absolute favorite is Montgomery. I would really consider using it if I could find a nickname I love.
With the German pronunciation, I love Aloysius! Alois was my favorite name for so long.
Amadeus is so handsome, it would be higher on my list but it doesn't really fit with my other names.
Aureliano is great but I prefer just Aurelian.
Bartholomew has been really high on my list but as a nickname lover I hate that I can't find a nickname I really love for it.
Montague is one of my top GP names, I just love the sound of it.
I also love Michelangelo, Zacharias, Zephaniah and Valentino.other names I can think of: Beauregard, Luitpold, Archibald, Lafayette, Leonardo, Barnabas :)

I like...Amadeus for its excellent rhythm
Montague because its Duck's real name (Thomas the Tank Engine)
Montgomery for its amusing rubber-boots and mud-puddles sound
Michelangelo because a small, reddish painting
