If the theme is clever and subtle, then I'm all for it. I love the idea of a Shakespeare theme!Duncan

I am a huge fan of themes actually - but only obscure, possibly not obvious ones. We have a syllable, origin and popularity meme going on with our names. All two syllables, with the second syllable stressed, obscure use in the US, with a prominent use in Europe, as well as all being French variations on very popular English names. I do not like alliterative (first letter) themes, I DO like using the same letter for middle names (that sounds fun) and any category theme is great (Shakespeare, Flowers, Victorian, Colors, Herbs, Same meanings, etc). For my theme here, I will pair musical and virtue names:Justus Reed
Prosper Freddo
Melody Serene
Viola Mercy

Greek mythology. I'm doing three girls and two boys, because I have too many awesome girl names.Penelope Helen Artemis "Pepsi"
Persephone Hera Athena "Pippa"
Cassandra Iris Iphegenia "Cassie"Perseus Lykos Leandrus "Percy"
Hermes Adonis Alexander "Hermes"Pippa and Pepsi would be twins :).

I don't mind themes. I think it just becomes problematic when the parents start to sacrifice names they love for the sake of keeping the theme going. Sibsets in which every name has the same first letter or same ending bother me. I don't know why. It seems tacky to me, I guess. I would love to have/see a Shakespearean theme, but I think if I did go with a theme in reality, it would be shades of purple. Right now, I'm feeling flowers and animals. Foxglove Wren

I like subtle themes, so nothing too blatant. The theme-iest I would get is Shakespeare or other literature/history, and probably something that wouldn't be obvious to anyone but me. I would use all of these, probably. Irish with the -or element:

I think that as long as the theme is not too obvious or matchy, it's okay. I can deal with same letter sibsets as long as the family is not too big (like the Duggars), but I don't like rhyming sibsets. I think it would be weird if you gave all your children color names like Scarlett, Violet, Grey, Indigo, but in you're example, you used names that had color meanings, for the most part, which I think is fine.I would give all my children literary names: Eloise Fern, Ramona Hermione, Atticus Leif, Caspian Judah.
