Micha LeonI guess? I think I'd really want more time to think about it, but that's not a bad combo, imo, and it even honours my paternal grandfather (Leo).

Tayden Jasiah AbelJust thought of this today! :)

John Edward Henrynt.

Zachary Owen *But only because I seem to be the only person on the face of the planet who likes Slade. In an ideal world, where it was accepted, I'd go with Zachary Slade instead.
vote up1
For what it's worth, I like Slade (especially as an interesting middle name!), and I think Zachary Slade sounds much nicer than Zachary Owen (though Owen is still nice). :)

Francis Edmond.
vote up1
Caspian Simeon Stewart OR Alfred Ignatius StewartHard to decide.
vote up1
I love Caspian
vote up1
Bodhi Gavin...although I do love the names Walter and Emerson (boy or girl for that one) so I'd love to work one or both in there too. Also, Blake would be an honoring name I could throw in the mix. Bodhi (meaning "awake" in the Buddhist tradition) has been on my mind today though (for either a boy or girl) so I'm testing it out I guess. :) Fun question. Thanks!

Cassian Jay TomasI'm really into Cassian / Cassia right now. I'd usually say Corin, but that might well be MY new name :)

Evander Kenneth.

Hugo Daniel Thomas, known as DanOur son's names were largely my doing, so for another one I'd use a tradition from DH's family: an H name + Daniel. The original ancestor used Daniel, and who wouldn't - his first name was Horace. And I prefer Daniel to most H- names, so there it is. Both my grandfathers were named Thomas, so that was easy.

Elias Noam or Matteo Junis

Raleigh Matthiasor Franklin if I had a middle name for him
vote up1
Ulrik Matthias.. or Marius Emmanuel!

Oliver Leslie....Leslie is my grandpa's name and also Cam's gramdpa's name.
vote up1
Either Moses Asher or Jed Elioenai. All names we did think about through our last pregnancy.
vote up1
Harvey JoeJoe would be after my father and brother. They're both Joseph but only ever go by Joe. I think it makes a nice, homey middle name for a boy.As for Harvey, its one of very few boys names I can actually picture on a son.My other thought was Ogden Joe. I adore the look and sound of Ogden but I dislike the poet so it was bumped.

Foster Jeremiah or Raphael EdwinDepending on hub's opinion.
vote up1
Both are lovely! Foster is a longtime GP of mine.
vote up1
I love Jeremiah and Raphael Edwin is so handsome.

Augustus Leo ChandraLeo for my aunt (Lee) and Chandra for my partners grandfather. I am on an Augustus kick lately, rather than my usual choice of August.

Leopold Allan ClydeOr Frederick Allan Leopold, but Leopold has been slightly edging out Frederick for me lately, so today he'd be Leopold.
vote up1
Leopold Allan Clyde is so liltingly swell.
vote up1
I love the Allan spelling because of Poe, Clyde is one of my favorite names right now and Leopold is so handsome!
vote up1
What about Leopold Allan Frederick? I love both Leopold and Frederick.
vote up1
Probably.....Christian James
vote up1
Love Christian James!

Karl RobertSame as usual. Runners-up would be Peter Roch and Philip William (or William Philip).
vote up1
Yay, another Karl/Carl lover!

Karl/CarlIt's absolutely my favorite. :-) I slightly prefer Karl but I would happily accept Carl as well.

Arthur ConstantineI don't have an Arthur combo yet.Arthur Tempest

vote up1
I love Mattias Casper! Mattias is my favorite name :)
vote up1
Oscar Roland Matthias or Oscar Matthias RolandEh... that's okay, I guesss. I'm terrible at combos.
Also, maybe Roland as the first name, and Mathias rather than Matthias.

Franklin Oliver IvanFranklin - I love the name, it also honours the name Frank.
Oliver - Just a name I like and it fitted.
Ivan - My maternal grandfather's name, I like it and it fits.Or maybe
Franklin Oliver Lee (Have swapped this as the subject title name several times so like joint top)
Franklin Lee Oliver
Franklin Lee James
Franklin Lee William
Franklin Lee Ivan
Franklin Kennedy John (a bit over the top probably)Let's get away from the franklin names before I get carried away...
Indio Edwin Leo
Jason Lee George
Carl Oliver Ivan
Sebastian Charles David
Gerard William James

I like Franklin Oliver Lee better. :)

Rory JacobBoth are names that I like and I'd like a J name as a middle name for family reasons.
vote up1
Gah, I love this! I love Rory (alas, no way I could use it irl!), but I'm not a big Jacob fan, but it's just a fantastic combo.

Love the name Jonah!

Peter EliaszJust for today, I'd go the full-on honoring route. Peter is my brother's middle name. Eliasz comes close enough to honoring my mother to satisfy me. It's a form of Elijah, not Elizabeth, but both are biblical names that start with Eli-, and I like that it's from her first language (Polish.)
vote up1
Love it! Very handsome and goes very well together
vote up1
August Felix Matthias "Gus"Most likely, but I'd have to wait to meet him to be sure.Short list would be:
August Felix Matthias "Gus"
Oscar Felix Matthias
Griffin Felix Matthias
Aurelian Felix Matthias
Grover Felix Matthias
vote up1
Nice combo, but I do prefer Oscar Felix Matthias. I love Oscar Felix!
vote up1
While I hate the nickname Gus, the rest of this combo is perfect. Felix is an awesome MN, and I've considered adding Matthias to my list.
vote up1
Alexander IdrisI think on the middle name... that would take some hashing out. It has to be honoring, so our options are limited as it is. Philip or Garth would probably be the only others I'd pick from. Possibly Evan.Actually Alex(ander) has really been on my mind for a few months if we had another boy, and today in the car my son (7) randomly started saying if we have another baby it should have an e in the middle like his name and his sister's name, so I was like, well there's always Alex... ha

This message was edited 7/6/2015, 12:02 PM

vote up1
Ben, Meg and Alex sound pretty great together :)I like Idris as a mn too!
vote up1
I know, right? :)
vote up1
Probably he'd be Jacek Filip (I'm Polish).Well, as I wrote I'm from Poland and I'm crazy lover of the name JACEK. FILIP is one of my favorite Polish names. I like also ALEKSANDER so Jacek Aleksander would be great. I think the name ARMIN is amazing although extremely uncommon in my country and not in the same style as Jacek so he rather wuldn't be Jacek Armin. But if I were from English-speaking country my son would be JACK or HYACINTH. Maybe Jack FINN, DECLAN Jack, Hyacinth ALEXANDER, or RASMUS Hyacinth or Hyacinth Rasmus.
vote up1
Jacek Filip is gorgeous. I just adore Polish names. :)
vote up1
Dzień dobry! I haven't seen you post on the boards before. Jacek Filip is very handsome.
vote up1
Cześć! :o Do you speak Polish? Yeah! I agree. I imagine Jacek Filip as a very handsome boy or man. You didn't see me, because I'm quite new here (about few weeks).
vote up1
No, not really, I only know a couple of little words and phrases through speaking to friends, but I would like to learn the language one day. Welcome to the boards!
vote up1
So if you'll want to begin to learn I'm willing to help you with it :)
vote up1
That's really sweet of you, thank you for the offer :)
vote up1
I love Jacek! lol it was the name of one of my OBs and he was gorgeous :)
vote up1
I quite like Jacek Filip. The flow and general feel of the name is both solid and impressive. To be honest, I like it better than Jacek Aleksander, but both have great flow. Hyacinth on a boy would be quite the thing in the states! I like it a lot, but it would raise some brows. We almost went with Giacinto, the Italian male version, as a middle name and I was worried about that!Hyacinth Alexander is a spunky option! I would totally get on board with that, though I am not sure I would have the guts to use it myself.
vote up1
I am a bit surprized that Hyacinth in US is generally a girl's name. I knew it always as a boy's, even though it has such a girly meaning. I always considered that Jacinda is only feminine form of it. Hmm, so now I'm not so sure that my son really would be Hyacinth. Giacinto in Italy isn't bad name, but in US or in whichever English-speaking country it sounds bad, even awfully, in my opinion.
vote up1
Really? I find Giacinto to be charming. It's pronounced with a soft G, similar to an English J.... like Jah-sin-toe. Though, part of my name is Gioia... and I grew up in an Italian family. So, these sounds are familiar.
Hyacinth is not a common names at all, so it's not so much that it is girly... but that it is rare and, if even used, it is used on girls. I like it for boys or girls though.
vote up1
Ah, so if in US it's pronounced the same way as in Italy, it's not so strange. At first I thought it's pronounced by the other way than in Italy, more hard. But if it's the same pronounciation it's really charming.

Laurence Emeric or Nigel Cosmo or Cosmo Laurence or Nigel EmericStalwart favorite Horatio is taking the proverbial back seat today.
vote up1
Nigel Emeric is very quirky, yet classy. I like it.
vote up1
A toss up between Cole Alexander and Cole EmersonEmerson as an honoring name to my sister, Emily.I'm aware that Alexander is a filler name but its so strong, classic and masculine and pairs so well with Cole. A long name with a short name-great combo balance. I also really love the name Logan (popularity does not bother me)
vote up1
I love Cole. :)
vote up1
Arthur SomethingI can't think of a middle name right now, but hte first name would definitely be Arthur.
vote up1
This could be a George Harrison tribute name. There's a really cute part of the movie A Hard Day's Night where an interviewer asks him, "What do you call that hairstyle you're wearing?" and he deadpans: "Arthur."And then, the song "Something".Hehe.
vote up1
Oh same!
vote up1
I love it. :)

Roger Huckleberry ShawI'm serious. Maybe his nickname would be Huck, but I'm not sure. All three names have a special significance to me.

This message was edited 7/6/2015, 10:29 AM

vote up1
Roger makes me so very happy, and Huckleberry is delightful.
vote up1
Love it!!!Roger is one of my favorite names, repeatedly vetoed by dear Julius... but still love it! Huckeberry is a perfectly quirky pairing and Shaw is unexpected but rounds out the combo nicely.
vote up1
Love it! It's quirky, but respectable. And Myrtle, Vance, and Roger would be just too adorable. ♥
vote up1
Agreed!
vote up1
Leo Gabriel, although ...I'm amazed lately at how much I adore the name Ronan! Ronan Gabriel is a close second to Leo Gabriel for me.
vote up1
Leo Gabriel is just gorgeous, I love it!
vote up1
I adore Leo Gabriel. I like Leo about 500x more than Ronan.
vote up1
Handsome. Ronan is nice, too.
vote up1
Either combination would be gorgeous!
vote up1
Johannes Leo EerikAll the names are honoring and/or family names:Johannes: a masculine form of Johanna, which is my grandmother's, mother's and my own middle name
Leo: my great-grandfather's first name
Eerik: refers to Eero, which is my brother's first name

Wolfram is just so cool. Gives a kind of "wild" feel to the name.

Thomas Alfield "Tom"My grandpa's name is Thomas "Tom" and today is the feast day of St. Thomas Alfield (http://catholicsaints.info/blessed-thomas-alfield/).
vote up1
Nice! I often wonder if I would have the guts to use a name-day name for a child.
I almost think that would be the best way to surprise both yourself and the world with a child. Great thinking!
vote up1
Alexander DavidDavid is honoring.
vote up1
August Aaron EstelAugust for my grandpa's MN, Aaron is my BF's name, and Estel because I like it.ETA to add runner up: Patrick Anthony Gerard.

This message was edited 7/6/2015, 8:49 AM

vote up1
Oo, I like this choice. Very personal, yet Estel just livens it up so much!Patrick Anthony Gerard is darling! (Gerard is DH's runner up for Loic, mine is Renard).
vote up1
Yeah, I like more personal names a lot of the time. My "future children's name list" is full of honoring names mixed in with names I like just because.Patrick Anthony Gerard used to be just Patrick Gerard, but that didn't seem like enough. Renard isn't that far in sound from Gerard, that's kinda funny.
vote up1
I know... the big debate... Renard or Gerard. I maintain that Renard is the just the right amount of foxy compared to the potential of having a Gerry in the family! We agreed to disagree until the next one comes around!
vote up1
Nickname idea for Gerard: Gee. If you don't like Gerry, that could work. I think it's adorable.
vote up1
I like it!Ardi was my husband's choice. Gee will make a great alternative!

Loic Makisig NoelWe finally settled on this combo for SURE during our anniversary dinner last Friday.DH had a moment of genius with Noel. It's his eldest brother's name, and it is also my twin sister's middle name, plus it's Christmas-y, and LO will be born first week in December. Super stoked to have a name set!

Brilliant, brilliant name!
vote up1
Are you guys planning to find out your baby's gender before birth?
vote up1
yep! But, my doc likes to wait for that. I was eligible for the ultrasound about a month ago. She prefers that I don't get ultrasounds unless necessary and I need one between 5 and 6 months anyway. Only a couple weeks away!I'm pretty pumped to see if we have a Loic or a Nadine!
vote up1
This name is awesome. How do you pronounce Makisig?
vote up1
mah-Kee-seeg. It means "refined grace" in Tagalog. It was my husbands non-negotiable choice for a boy.
vote up1
That's how I would've guessed it was pronounced, but I had to ask. That's an awesome meaning too.

Nathan Michael. I'm boring.

My son is Nathan James. :)
vote up1
I like that. :)
vote up1
I love it!But I'm boring too when it comes to real life naming. :)
vote up1
Yeah, that's the thing: if you're asking what I would actually name a child, I'll always go with a more traditional choice. I just can't see myself putting anything too weird on a birth certificate. Thanks for the compliment. :)

This message was edited 7/6/2015, 4:57 PM

vote up1
I find Nathan to be charming actually.
DH and I got into an argument over Nathan v. Nathaniel v. Natanael. Thus, it never ended up on our list. But, its strong, grounded and classy - not boring imo.
vote up1
By BtN standards it's boring, but I like Nathan and always have. I don't know if I would go with Michael as a middle, but it would be honoring both sides of the family, so that's a plus. And, it would sound great with our surname.I don't know...whenever something like this posted, I kind of wish I could answer Merriweather Rudolph Valentino or something, but I yam what I yam. I like simple names.
vote up1
Merriweather Rudolph Valentino is such an accurate portrayal of BtN haha

Does your husband like Ashley? Curious.
vote up1
He has said he wouldn't mind naming a son Ashley, Morgan (except he doesn't think it sounds good with our surname and he's right), or even Grace but he doesn't like Mordecai :(

August Barnaby St. JamesAugust has long been my favourite boys' name. St James is honouring. Barnaby is just Barnaby, because why not?
vote up1
St. James just makes me happy somehow. The whole combo does, actually. Very nice!
vote up1
Thank you very much!
vote up1
August Barnaby is great, but St. James is not for me personally.
vote up1
Thanks! I know St James isn't for a lot of people, haha.
vote up1
Yeah, another August fan! I was so happy when I found out my grandpa's MN was August, because I love that name.
vote up1
I always love "running into" someone who loves August as much as I do. August Aaron Estel is very handsome.
vote up1
Thank you!
vote up1
Exactly. Why not Barnaby? Totally digging this combo. It's spunky, yet totally grounded with August.
