Amillion - this name is certainly one in a million. And thank goodness. Gwendolen, Cosimo, & Spyridon - there needs to be more of these! I'm sure Susan & Willliam are typos.

I guess I'm most surprised by Shirley, since I know two Shirleys and it seems like such a normal, boring name. But looking at the popularity graphs, I guess it really had a peak and then dropped off rather drastically. Those 5 male Susans are either typos in the gender or parents who like the Johnny Cash song a bit too much. :PI'm thinking the Willliam thing is a typo. It has to be.

GirlsShirley (200)- Kind of surprised. Not the worst name but not the best. Never really cared for it though.
Katya (67)- I'm not surprised at this; it's cute.
Lavender (46)- Not surprised but I'm not sure why people like this name.
Jaretzy (30)- How did this beat Gwendolen?! It's terrible.
Gwendolen (22)- One of my favorite names! I'm surprised that the number is only 22.
Amillion (7)- What?
Gurnaaz (5)- I'll pass.
Yarisbeth (5)- You're kidding, right?BoysRobin (188)- I don't like it as a male name.
Elvis (186)- Thank you, thank you very much; NO THANK YOU! I'm surprised the number is this high.
Chancellor (60)- Uh, what?!
Zacharias (54)- Not surprised.
Joniel (36)- I've never heard this before so I can't really say.
Anikin (7)- I guess there are some Star Wars fans out there?
Bertram (7)- Not terribly surprised.
Spyridon (5)- Why would you do this to your child?
Cosimo (5)- See above.
Susan (5)- You're kidding, right? I hope so.
Xaniel (5)- Xander meets Daniel. I don't like it at all.
Willliam (5) - this one confused me at first! (surely William is in the top 20?)--This can't possibly be right. I would have expected to find William in the top 50 or at least the top 100. I'm going to say there was a typo in the info you found. Either way, it's a great name.

Nope.... it is William with three l's!

Ohhhh... Nevermind then, I see why it's so low.

I thought Lavender would be a bit more popular than this. I've been hearing people talk about it for a while now.
Some names, like Robin and Susan, sound like they don't belong here, but I supposed they are just out of fashion.
Willllllliam is terrible! Can you imagine that kid trying to get people to spell his name properly. "Hi, my name is WllliamwiththreeLs" An awful attempt at making a popular name unique.

I feel silly now. I didn't even realize there were 3 L's in the original post. Maybe I need to make my font bigger. If that's not a typo then yeah, I can see why it's so low.

Shirley- probably honoring grandma/ great aunt
Yarisabeth- reminds me of Yulibeth, the middle name of one of my new students from Honduras
Susan (m), there's Zuzan, which is a male name. I just used it on a character's second cousin, who isn't important to the story, but he is one of the galans for the MC's quinceanos, so all the galanes and damas are named.
