"Gus" is such a heavy, masculine syllable, and August only rings masculine to me. I don't like the name; it has the same repellant stuffiness as Ambrose. Augusta would have been a real crowd-pleaser. August has been done enough lately, but Augusta would cause a real splash! I like Augusta.
