No, I wouldn't choose it, but I don't hate it.

I wouldn't pick it, but I like it pretty well for either sex. I guess more for a boy. If there were nothing I liked more that my husband also liked, I'd use it.

Definitely I wouldn't, personally, but I'd much rather see it on a boy than a girl. I generally dislike the name, though, and would rather see it not used at all. I like phoenixes, but something about Phoenix as a name seems so unimaginative and boring, despite the fact that actual (mythological) phoenixes invoke beautiful, exciting imagery for me. Phoenix as a name is just...disappointing to me, I suppose.

No, I wouldn't. Phoenix is not really the kind of name I would like to use for my son. But I do think it's a nice name and a good choice for other people's kids. I've only come across Phoenix a couple of times in real life and one used the spelling Fenix.

I would-- but I always think of Phoenix Wright-- Ace Attorney! Not a bad namesake, though. A little Phoenix could go by Nick!

No, for a few reasons. My family already has a Phoebe, I taught a Phoenix a few years ago who tainted the name for me, and I just think it's sort of, well, dorky.

Yes, definitely. It's my second favourite boys' name at the moment and I absolutely *love* it. I've always wanted to have a son called Phoenix, and intend to if I ever have two boys. The connection to the mythological bird is great for me anyway, since I'm fascinated by Greek mythology. Plus the whole message and meaning behind it is beautiful and inspirational. I just love the look, sound, and meaning. The only thing that's started to bug me recently and bring up some doubts is its popularity for both genders (especially girls), but I'm hoping, as I'm a long way off from having kids, it will have decreased by then. I'm not entirely convinced I could give it up.

As a middle name, sure. I like its look and sound. It's not really first name material for me though.

No, but I did know a young boy (I think he'll be about 8 now) called Phoenix, and it suited him really well.
