What do you think of Lelde? It is pronounced LEHL-deh / LEL-də. I have been nurturing an interest in Latvian names recently, and this one is certainly not a deviation from that sentiment. The visual and sound of Lelde has a lovely old-fashioned feeling to it, I think.
It brings to mind names such as Zelda, Hilda, Matilda, Lydia, Betty, Martha, Sibyl, and Edna. As a sibling pair, Edwin immediately came under consideration.

I do like the dusty feel of it and I think it fits right in with the Betty / Edna style.
The sound is different, but not unpleasant. The spelling certainly lends to the older feel of the name. I could imagine it used today as Lelda, but I do like the e ending personally.
Still, if I were to be realistic, I would likely use Lelda instead because it is easier to figure out pronunciation across cultures.
Edwin is a great option for a sibset. Though, I think I would prefer Lelde and Edgar instead.

That is a question I am unfortunately unable to answer. One name website has Lelde listed as "peace," but I am unsure how accurate that is since the Latvian words for "peace" are miera and miers. It looks to be a rare name even in its country of origin, so that would contribute to the lack of information.
Another thought in my search for connected pieces is that it could be related to lelle: "doll," or an endearing "poppet"-like child. That seems conceivable. And I believe that an "-e" suffix in Latvian words denotes feminine-gendered nouns.

The lelle connection makes sense to me. Kind've like the name Bonnie.
