HelpRe: The names that got away

Jasper - I like it, but I prefer Jesper for some reason. I also knew a dog called Jasper, which makes me wonder whether it's a bit of a dog name. Having said that, I would not hesitate in naming a child (not that I'm having one) after my dog, Max. I think he makes an awesome namesake.
Astor - Just NMS, nothing wrong with it and as I've said, I see no problem naming people after dogs.
Stephane - The idea would have been cool, it's just unfortunate that the name Stephane is not!
Chloe - It's cute, quite popular, which I'm trying not to affect my decisions over whether I like or dislike a name (although it does). I think I do actually like it. I've known two lovely, beautiful Chloe's.
Xenophon (Xen) - I love Xen, I would worry Xenephon is not far from Xenophobe. Maybe I'm being too fussy. But Xen is really cool.
