Edith Josephine & Adeline Isabel comments
What do you think of the combo Edith Josephine? Is it too serious? Do you think the seriousness is a reduced with the nickname Edie? What do you think of the combo Adeline Isabel? If you don't like it what combo do you suggest, keeping in mind I like classic girls names?

Edith Josephine is very serious, very formal, but in a very good way. I LOVE Edie. In fact it is the one thing that would make me name my daughter Edith. I like Edith, it is soft and old-schooled, but Edie really does it for me.Adeline Isabel feels clunky in comparision to Edith Josephine. Edith Josephine has this seamless flow. In all fairness, I really don't like Adeline. I much prefer Adelaide, but I don't really think it works here.Alice Isabel?
Cora Adeline?

Edith Josephine -- Sorry, I'm not a fan of either, however, the nn Edie is sweet.Adeline Isabel -- I don't love the flow (both have three syllables with the stress on the first syllable). I do like both names yet would rather see the French Isabelle spelling paired with the equally French Adeline. Of the two combos, I easily prefer this one.

Edith Josephine is nice, very Downton Abbey. I'm not a huge fan of Edith, but Edie is a cute nn. To me, Adeline Isabel doesn't flow. I love both names individually, though. I think I'd prefer Ada Isabel or Adeline... Adeline Belle? Adeline Iris? I dunno.

Edith is a cute, old fashioned name that doesn't need a nickname. Josephine is what makes it sound harsh; I'd look for a different middle and drop Edie. Adeline Isabel is cute although I like Isabelle better. It just looks more complete than Isabel.

I think Edith Josephine is really nice! I don't think it's too serious, but then, I tend to like names that, upon reflection, may be considered serious names. As another poster said, Add-uh-line Isabel is works. I think it's great. It doesn't sound right with the other pronunciations though.

I really like Edith nn Edie and alone do not feel it is too serious, however Josephine does feel a really serious name and even Edie Josephine sounds that way. I'd keep Edith nn Edith for change Josephine. Edith Joanna / Johanna?Adeline also feels seriously so definitely don't go with Adeline Josephine :)I like Isabel, but much prefer Isobel. Isobel Adeline would be better, Isobel Adelaide would be beautiful

I'm not a fan of either Edith or Josephine, but I think the combo works. I'd definitely be using the nn Edie to lighten it, but it flows well.As for Adeline Isabel, I'm not sure. It very much depends on your pronounciation of Adeline. If it's -line, I like the combo. If it's -lyn or -leen, I really don't think it does work and I'd look for something else.I love Adeline with all the pronounciations, and Isabel is my favourite version of that group of names.

Edith Josephine is classic and lovely and I adore the name Edie, whether it's a full name or a nn. Adeline Isabel is lovely too and the nn Addy could be cute, maybe.

The first and I guess only Edith I think of is Edith Bunker, so I guess I don't really see the name as serious to begin with. Edie I actually see as more serious, since it's the name of Magneto's mother who was shot in the face in front of him in a concentration camp.I like both Joesphine and Isabel, but I've never been a fan of Adeline. As a combo, I think Edith Josephine is quite nice.
